you do know it's cheating if you call the dog's name. that itself is a conditioned response. you said before that the dog was 5, and assuming that you have had the dog for a while, Tango would already know that he will be rewarded if he responded to the sound "Tango". calling his name means you used a different stimulus than what you were trying to prove would work.

I do not believe that the dog is conditioned to the sound of the water bottle but the sight of someone holding their hand down low as if they were holding a treat. This is a poor example of Pavlov's theory.

thie conditioning had to be done over a period of days, that would have had a better effect lol. by trying to condition the dog within the day is proving to be hard. but it seemed thtat by the end things seem to be working by. when its over a period of days it works better. you get the same results when you test it on a person. ive watched a video where a uni student conditioned his roomie to duck whenever he heard the sound of a firing toy gun. hilarious

i don't even know what to believe now..

but i think there might be something that caused the dog to behave this way though...who knows? if the experiment is properly done (maybe in a real lab room or something) the dog might act differently. :)
