@Naruto1fanforever You need two 5's total because one of the denominators has two 5's as a factor, and the LCD must contain each denominator completely.
LCD = 5*5*7*z^8
First denominator is 5*7*z^8 (yes, the LCD contains that)
Second denominator is 5*5*7*z^5 (yes, the LCD contains that)
I have a theory about math teachers.. Most of them just "got it" when they were young.. it kind of popped out to them... It makes sense to them like understanding english.. They forget about the "babies" who are still learning how to talk and walk... They forget that we have to "sound it out" before we can hold the conversation... thank you for "sounding it out"... :)
@haz634 If all you're doing is finding the LCD, then yes, forget about the numerators. If you're then going to add or subtract the fractions you have to bring the numerators back into the picture, like the first problem in the video shows.
Thank you so much! I've been looking at all sorts of videos trying to figure out how to do this and yours really showed me how to do it :) Thanks again!
OH MY GOSH ! Thank you soooo much ! I missed a few days of school cause I was sick and didn't get to learn this . Wow, this is suchhh a great help ! Thanks again ! [[:
Thanks! It's so difficult when teachers try to explain it in such a way that they automatically start to do it themselves, mentally. It would be helpful if all math was taught this way...in STEPS, not jumping around, mentally. I agree with the comment below. We need more teachers like you!
oh my god thank you so much i really had no clear way to explain my little brothers how to do it because im used to find it mentally but this will do perfectly keep it up we REALLY do need more teachers like you with this current education
I hope me teach doesnt get mad at me for doing it this way lol I forgot the other way btw we have to do this in fifth grade

Thank you very much for this: my teacher is horrible. It's amazing how simple things are when the teacher actually knows how to teach.
It is upsetting that bad teachers continue to fail at teaching and retain their jobs.
