Hard to imagine living in a country where you can walk into a welfare office and say, "Me transmissions buggered and I need 200 quid to fix it!!!" Is it still like that in England, if so I'm moving there.
Went to the super market and the girl at the checkout has pams vioce. This was one of my favourite shows in the 80's .Great to see some of the best moments on you tube. I loved the funny one liners . living in Australia, not ever having traveled to England ,it was my first insight as to what it would be like to live in your country " doing it tough" .coming from a "lower socio economic" background myself I think helped me relate to the series also.is there any similar english comedy shows?
Ah, the days when you had to go down to the dole office to sign on.
The memories come flooding back,
the ambience, the characters, the cigarette smoke, all gone now.
It was always an ambition to get a date with the girl behind the bullet proof glass, I'm sure this ladies resolve would soften after, say, a few glasses of red wine!
I never watched Prisoner Cell Block H much myself. I presume 'the freak' was a stunningly good-looking lady with a dodgy hair-do. Thanks for the dodgy 'compliment', pal!
actually the freak was a butch lesbein that knocked the prisoners about, but it's not in looks, it's the same type of facial mannerisms, and sour-ness. I love both characters
LOL! Well, I'm not a lesbian, and at 5' 2"" (just!) and about 8 stone, I couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding!!! Glad you liked my bit in the show!
UK gold should put this on instead of the same episodes of only fools week after week. Don't get me wrong I love Del-Boy but come on everyone's seen them a thousand times. It's time to show another Great british comedy get the Boswells back on the TV
are you seriously pamela power? an old girlfriend tried to convince me the receptionist in my hero was you, she turned out gay, and visibly wrong. though type your name in wikipedia i think my lesbian ex filled it in for you. hope you are well. thank you for some great laughs. got series 1-4 on dvd.
Thanks for your nice words re my stuff in 'Bread'; it was a great show to be involved with - great fun to do, and I often had a very hard time keeping a straight face! Your ex was wrong about 'My Hero' - I wasn't in it, so I've deleted that reference in Wikipedia. I'm doing fine, thanks, though I haven't done any acting for a few years now.
Anyway, it's nice to know that people still enjoy 'Bread'. Have a happy New Year!
thank you for replying. made me smile again. im sure there are alot of us still love it and would if it got repeated, including your bank manager im sure. we should start a campaign. as a 14 year old boy at the time your best moment was rolling down the hill with shifty. a surprise bit of leg can do alot for a boy.
I've just noticed that her account has been blocked lol!

So what if half the cast are Mancunians - ALL of them are actors and that's all that counts!
Nice to know that someone would like to see the show re-run on TV, 2katie! It'd be nice for my bank balance too!!!!

Pity we can't see repeats of this series on TV, instead of the usual ones shown over and over again.
When commenting it would be nice if PLAIN English could be used!!!
