Ralph is really great and adds much depth to his compositions. He is also obviously enjoying himself and not just going through the motions.
It is too bad that the average video camera can not pick up the punch that the organ has with some of it ranks playing at almost double the pressure of most Wurlitzer Organs. The space and the organ were designed for each other. I hope that a CD or DVD of Ralph playing this great instrument is in the offing.
Nice playing! and from a good tech., too! The Robert Morton is a bit smoother than a WurliTzer. I thought that Wurli consoles were gaudy, but this takes the cake. Love the gaud!
I know it borders on sacrilage to say this, but I almost prefer the sound of a good, gutsy Morton the flash and brilliance of a Wulitzer. The consoles usually are not the most ergonmically comfortable, tho...us long-legged guys usually need bench risers; I have a couple I made for my Conn 652, but they work equaqlly well under a Morton bench! Pity, it's hard to find a Howard Seat, these days.
Now, here's a piece I recogonize. Nicely done! There goes that anoying guy on the left that keeps poking his head in front of the camera again! Why does he keep doing that?!
Too bad you can't "photoshop" that guy out of the video. Someone should have told him that he was doing those anoying head-bobbs and to STOP IT!. Better yet, it would have been most satisfying to see someone "slap him upside the head"!
This Wonder Morton Theater Pipe Organ, will next be heard Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 7:30 PM in a GSTOS concert featuring, Chris Elliott.
