@Dionysius8421 meh...not sure I like it. Listened to the title track Depths of R'yleh, and I thought it was pretty crude. I was like, yeah, I know R'lyeh is a totally evil place, but since it is, your musical approach should be all the more subtle. I know good music doesn't write itself, but it feels like a waste of a topic. I just always feel this is something Sabbath should have done, or else a band a lot like them. Or Dio, though the approach would be totally different. Maybe just me...

@Brandt761 I enjoy it, but you're right; it's not the best. To each his own. I, personally, think the dark ambient project Aklo does the best job at portraying the subtle vileness of the Mythos.

Though I do love the HPLHS.

@Dionysius8421 well, HPLHS is a totally different story. Given the role of their organization and the size of their projects their work is perfectly good. It's not original, but it doesn't need to be. It might even fail to serve its purpose if it were (since it's at least partially meant to raise Mythos awareness). Wheras if you're gonna make a metal album, a bit of imagination is called for.

@Brandt761 I'm German, it's on my keyboard. However, the pronunciation is definitely "a" (uh), so writing an Umlaut makes sense only if it's the name of a metal bänd.

@Brandt761 I always pronounced the umlaut, and it sounds fine. I think it sounds kind of strange with a schwa, to be honest.

@Qrawzseg well, they are both legitimate for praise of the old ones but arguably the "a" is a more Germanic sound than "ä", since the umlaut is just the replacement for the English "ay" (it sounds almost the same). And Germanic sounds are almost always better for demonic usage.
