dude i can u help me i cant play a single online game with my acer aspire one. im on windows 7 home premium and when im running a game it blinks alot and say game run failed. what should i do? do i need some kind of a sofware i could download?
I'm using the A150 model with the 10.1 inch screen and I can play wow minimum lag unless in Org and get decent frames while in normal areas. Be advise this is at minimum graphics. Still I have been away from my desktop for 2 months now and it does the job just fine. I am now a major Acer fan... Great laptop
how do u actually play the game wivout a diskdrive? dnt wna sound noobish but i relli wna kno, do i plug a diskdrive in or can i play it online or sumfin pls reply asap =]
you just buy a dvd rw external drive and plug it into the usb port, Just look external dvdrw drives on google. u can get a god one for around $50- $70
you can download the game online. you could install with a external disk drive or you could instal by copying your world of warcraft folder from another computer
there is a much easier way to get wow on one of this sweet mini laptops
i assume you have a main computer with wow b4 getting this mini laptop, . download winrar and compress wow into 5-7 gig files. then get a memory stick of 5-8 gig of memroy, transfer the parts. install winrar on the mini laptop, extract the files, and your good to go
i'm thinking of getting this Acer Aspire One A150L. and i was wondering, say i buy it and i get everything up and running... now it's time to download WoW.. can i just go straight to the website, download everything, then start playing right? i won't need to install anything to the laptop will i?
That will be a multiple gig download. There are a couple of ways around that.
Buy an external DVD drive.
Map a DVD drive from another computer over the network.
Copy an existing installation from another computer using your network or external storage. When you get the WoW folder on the One, run the repair program in the folder. You will have to create your own icons, and it doesn't always work.
i have regretad buying this PC some but i didnt buy it as a main pc as i have 1 desktop and 1 laptop from before, just bought it for the size(and it looked interesting^^)

so it IS possible to download it from the website onto this specific netbook?
you know what i mean, right? the top option: ''Download multiple Gigs from internet.''
but then someone called 'Runescene' then commented saying that you needed a external hard drive. but he said for Linex. and mine isn't a Linex, it's coming as a Windows XP edition. so i guess i could use the internet. but external hard drive maybe is easier?
If you are buying one with XP, ignore Runscenes post.
I haven't used this specific netbook, but I just installed WoW to an old Thinkpad with worse specs, except for monitor size. I used an external DVD burner for the install.
Go to WorldofwarcraftDotCom. After you set up your account, you will have the option to download. The other options are much much faster though if you have the means and will be useful for other programs.
You don't have to buy an external CD. The client can be downloaded. Or you could mount a drive from another computer on your network.
Ubuntu is awesome, but if you plan on playing WoW on one of these often, I would opt for XP. The game will run much faster in its native operating system. There is plenty of space on the HD to dual boot if you wanted. If fact, unless there is a significant price difference, buying one with XP pre-installed would be a better value since Ubuntu is free.
im thinking about getting wow and i know for a fact im gettin an aspire one, im not 100% sure about the specs but i know its 1.6 ghz. 160 gig HDD, and 1 gig of ram. is that gonna make a difference with the lag you say there is in main cities? tbh ive never played wow =P
You can see my video response... I've heard that if you run Windows Media Player in the background it makes things load into the memory faster, but I think this is an outdated solution. I have the 1.5 GB of ram installed in mine and IT doesn't even help much. I've also heard if you lower your monitor refresh rate it can help, but sadly the laptop doesn't allow this. I've found no solutions except 1. DON'T RAID on it 2. DON'T PvP on it 3. USE IT ONLY for grinding levels/skills/gold solo. :)
in bgs the max ur going to get about 15 and thats with alot of tweaking on the graphics options...its the same in maincitys(if there alot of players:)
Fraps tends to slow down the game some while you run it because it's capturing video and storing to hard-drive so the game should run a bit better than video is showing right?
can you play wow on a Acer Aspire One Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60GHz Netbook? Because I only have around $400 for a laptop and an acer aspire is all I can afford.
what specs are you running could you please post them for me

Get a program called GMAbooster, it gives you a better performance, roughly about 20-25% faster. With a tradeoff of a slightly slower battery life.

hi men..
a question..
can you run wrath of the lich king on this Acer?
alucard666111 1 year ago
@alucard666111 I play Wrath of the Lich king on my asus eee pc 1005ha.
1gig of ram
1.66 gigahertz processor
160 gigabyte hardrive
And the world's crappiest graphics card (integrated graphics (video card and motherboard in one)
I average 11 fps.
Make sure you do your research and get one with a real graphics card though if you are going to play wow on this.

Buy an external DVD drive.
Map a DVD drive from another computer over the network.

You must buy an external DvD drive, to download world of warcraft.
You mmust first however go onto the internet and download ubuntu for linux. (I have done this)
Then you must download a program called wine.
Using the add/remove program you can download Java and all that sort of stuff.
using the external dvd drive you must download WoW.

(10-25FPS)

I can tell the draw distance is turned down some, is that only graphic setting turned down?
And the video card drivers for Aspire one, is there newer ones or anything you can do to make it run faster? tweaked drivers?

Whats your fps without fraps running like..? at the place you were(or a random place in outland)
also could you inform if your playing on LOWEST graffical settings or ?
Jumpstar321 3 years ago
The FPS is actually quite low (around 7-17) but its still pretty playable.
the graphic is on the lowest, in full screen and no other applications.
it works totally fine for travelling and single fighting:D
