  • I have a version never heard before of this song

  • This was the late 60's and one style was rock-n-roll versions of classicals, like Apollo 100 and the song Joy.

  • Check out my version, you will love it, it´s like the new age version...

  • Sounds like what would be expected for a Mannheim Steamroller version of this classic. It appears from the title on the photo and by the sound that the guitar work is perform by none other than Mason Williams himself. So can not be complaining about that.

  • As for the cover art, I do not think that this was the first time that the title was punned with references to motor fuels. The original artist's track must have been used in advertising gasoline, tires or other automotive products. Was it Sunoco 260?

  • I am a fan of Manheim and Mason Williams so beautiful together .

  • 'classic' case of how to ruin a good original piece.

Never mind, there's plenty of good accoustic guitarists out there.

  • @willnotallow1 There are hundreds and hundreds of acoustic versions of classical gas on Youtube alone and you have the insolence to say this version ruined the song ? Variety is the spice of life! Could try being a bit more open-minded possibly sir . . . .

  • @LiamoR7

Hey, he was just speaking his mind, man. I, for one, agree with him; the Manheim Steamroller version replaced the horn section (which was always rather nostalgic to me) with a synthesizer, and that took away the whole "classical" theme of the song.

  • @willnotallow1 What makes you say so?

  • @willnotallow1 If you're complaining about the guitar work on this, then your opinion doesn't hold much water because Mason Williams is the guy who originally recorded the piece.

  • @willnotallow1 Ruin? Nope! This isn't the original, but it is very good in its own way, plus this is Mason Williams playing the guitar in this one.

  • one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES LONG LIVE THIS MIX. They have carried me through the good times and bad.my sister that went to braincancer turned me on to this wonder of music

  • Incredible......I luv this !!!!

  • Manheim and Mason, a beautiful marriage.

  • Mason Williams and Chip Davis in the same room......something good is bound to come out of it.

  • This became my new reference recording for Classical Gas. I could not conceive of a greater collaboration with Mason WIlliams.

  • Love this music !

  • Love you guys!
