i'd didnt see any awkwardness other than murray being patronising and trying to be funny and the guy was too smart for him. by the end murray is talking to him like he is a 5 yr old. surprised he didnt ask him if he wanted an ice cream. murray = talentless

i had the privilege of sitting at a table with Eugene and a few of the other band members at the bottleneck in lawrence, ks a few years ago. i was this 14 year old kid who literally ran away from home to see them, and they were so cool about it. the violinist left me a note in this music store. they're awesome
