@kkalox12 This is an FC Twin which is based on the NES and SF/SNES spec. So, no. It's based on the older consoles and can use the older games, but the console itself is rather new. 3rd parties only started making these about 4 years ago I believe.

As you know there are at least 400.000.000.000.000 possible combinations of password chucked in the 8 bit microprocessor because mostly its pass was a random data and its hardcoded .So it was generated once the password is in.

Around the time I made this video, my real NES wasn't working. I gave that to my friend so he could repair it, so I used an emulator to record the footage. However, I used his FC Twin (Shown in the video) to show I actually owned the game.

The nes as much as i love them were badly made. I own 3. 2 of which still work. The problem is when you push the cartridge in and then down it actually bends the teeth of the nes causing it to go bad in the long run. For those of us that love these games the FC Twin is awesome I love mine. Bought it because my snes died and its great. And at this point its much better then my NES. Just put the games in and they work no playing with it.

I love that damn thing! the reason is that im useing a "crappy piece of vomited garbedge" is because my NES broke when i was playin Zelda with the battery inside it dead. I stepped on top of it when i came home from school. Broke internally. my SNES broke when my little bro spilled juice in the power button and the cartridge slot. Shorted out 1 hour later. Nao i have a FC twin and i use that to play some Zelda and never break it easily =D

His system is called an FC Twin the power switch on it has 3 settings: Off, SNES, and NES. The SNES carts go in the front slot; the NES carts go in the back slot. It uses SNES controllers IIRC, and in NES mode the X/Y buttons are turbo for the A/B. [/system analysis] You sir have just won a... TENTH OF AN INTERNET! It's kinda hard to explain, but basically A single password has 255 (or so) different versions, which all do the same thing. So, you could be able to type in random things and get something.

It's not intentional. You can make almost any phrase into a valid Metroid password. You just have to advance the checksum/encryption bits until it passes the check. Any combination of characters is valid as long as those make sense to the game, and the starting location is valid.

It should work in any version of the game. I'm not sure what all it does, but if I remember correctly it starts you in Brinstar with a couple of items already collected, and the Kraid statue is already up (Kraid is not dead, however). There's a program called "MPG" that can be used to generate passwords like this.
