the "Michael Rose era" (1977-1986). Garth Dennis left the group in 1994. A legal battle over rights to the name ended in `97, Simpson won. Don Carlos left and pursued a solo career. Simpson alone again then recruited Jennifer Connally and Andrew Bees recording: Unification(1998), Dynasty(2001). Andrew Bees left in 2003. Duckie reunited with Rose in 2004, an album was in progress but has yet to be released.

Dennis left Uhuru in 76 if not mistaken, and rejoined in the early 90-ies, it didn't really work commercially.

@maja - those albums bro - Duckie Simpson, Michael Rose, Errol Nelson & Don Carlos; known then as "Black Sounds Uhro" albums: Love Crisis(1977). first album.(check it out). Sandra passed, Reid left, Olafunke left soon after, leaving Simpson alone. Not to long after Don Carlos & Garth Dennis joined up, recording: 'Now(1990), Iron Storm(1991), Mystical Truth(1993) & Strongg(1994). Legal battles then ensued over who owned the 'Black Uhuru' name, Duckie Simpson won.

@maja - yh brotha, Reid was at his peak during this period. Rose left wanting to pursue a solo, the group searchd for a replacement, similar in vocal to Rose and that mon` was in Junior Reid. 'Reid' joined Duckie Simpson`s Black Uhuru recording the classic 'Brutal' (1986) album. B.Uhuru has a unique history (sure u know) if not den seek-out the original Uhuru set-up, Don Carlos, Duckie and Garth Dennis, sum tough material there as well.

@majabsalu The original line up consisted of Don Carlos, Duckie Simpson and Garth Dennis, who later joined the Wailing Souls. To my knowledge they never had an album in that formation only a copple of 45's, all collectors items now.
