Radicalizing of any instituions, esspecially a religious one is important to deal with, but I think we have to deal it with soft gloves and not stoop to sweeping generalizations and devalution of moderate muslims, and overvaluation of radical ones. I just think there is an overestimation of muslim extremist in the world today. I guess the first nations need an enemy; 40 years ago it was communism, now it's islam, what's it gonna be in another 40?

As someone that suffered a dog attack and remains afraid of dogs, I narrowly escaped two kidnapping attempts by the MILF (Mindanao Islamic Liberation Front). I know this experience scarred my veiw of Muslims. I also had a bad experience in Jarkarta 8 days after 9/11.

In fact, the good encounters I have had with muslims have been three people. One works at the halal butcher and when I smile and mention the weather he is kind and friendly. There was a muslim girl that worked at the dollar store that loved to laugh and a woman on the subway whose young child went under the turnstyle. We had a good laugh. It was so cute.
