Using what you have is always better than not doing anything.
As far as speed goes, the Forstner bit is designed to cut smooth sided, flat bottomed holes. It doesn't have a screw point like an auger so it doesn't pull itself into the wood. If you want to see an auger in action, you can see the difference on my channel

I have 10 in sweep stanley 813 . how much ft lbs for 10 in sweep ? also , can you calculate the power of double bit axe ? i heard it creates as much energy as rifle does, is it true ?
That is extreme. Extremely long!! I would be fired if it took me that long. My new job I have to drill about 60 1/2 holes a day. Must be nice to have all the time in the world to drill one hole. Nice Vid. I don't even think old timers did it this way.
Thanks. Being an old timer, I can attest that this is indeed the way we did it. The value of time varies with circumstance I suppose. I made do with the tools I had and as I needed holes I just did it. lol thanks for commenting. :)

With a 6" brace I have 6" of leverage.
1 lb of pressure on 12" of leverage is 1 foot pound. I weigh 280 lbs.
6" is half a foot so 1/2 times 280 equals 140.
A 10" sweep drill with the same 1 lb weight applied would equal 5/6 of a foot pound. By multiplying 280 times 5/6 I get 233.3 foot lbs.

is there any electric drill which can drill house wall with nails inside ?
bit brace with auger with tip sharpened like drill for steel could even
cut the nail in the wood , and went through wall .
of course i put all my weight on handle lol.

and even the electric could be that powerful , you should still hold
the electric drill handle , as long as its hand held one .......
i think bit brace handle is more comfortable to hold .
but sad caplitalism market , manufacturers advertise electric tools
as if its dream tool , and not make serious bit brace or hand tools anymore
as they did in 1900 - 1950

yes , i noticed bit brace is 50 times more powerful than electric when i had to drill in house wall .

@sonichedgie The leverage from a 6" swing brace lets me put 140 ft lbs on a bit that's a lot of torque.
