  • Any threads on that barrel?

  • @TheAnts47 yep, it has the standard threads that ARs do... any muzzle break, compensator, or suppressor will fit on it

  • @darthvader906 How do I get this shit on the barrel?

  • Were you bump-firing? I don't think it goes full-auto. After my felony stop the other day I've been paranoid so I'll go with CA model (especially since I live in Cali).

  • what muzzle flash?

  • Damm that was fast!!

  • Question - I want one of these really badly, and I want exactly what you have in this video. On the Kel Tec website it says the CA model only comes with a 10 round mag, but you have a 30 rd mag here. Can you buy the CA model with a 30 round mag instead of a 10? (I don't live in California)

    Love the muzzle flash!

  • @wayfaerer320 Why would you by a CA model? That is like having sex with a condom on.

  • @Warpath2198 well, the C is the what i would want ideally (i guess the SU-16D would be pretty sweet too haha) but the A is not available in Cali.

  • @wayfaerer320 Nice thing about the SU-16s - they all use standard AR15/M16 mags,so you can buy whatever you want. The CA is designed specifically for Cali laws, so is only shipped w/ 10 rounders but will happily accept whatever other mags you may have/buy.

  • @wayfaerer320 They are sold (if purchased new) with only the three stock ten-round magazines. However, the weapon can take any STANAG magazine (or all of them that I have tried) which are the magazines that the M-16 / AR-15 series of firearms take, and are widely available and fairly affordable.

  • bad ass hommie.

  • ahh ok. so each of the videos of this gun are just not showing the flash because of lighting/exposure/etc., but it does exist?

  • @iAREanthonyyy possibly... i think the ammo i was using had a big part in it too. the military cartridges are loaded a little hotter so there's more powder burning/ more flash

  • yeah that looks like alot of fun, but i would put a flash supressor on it

  • why does yours have such a flash but the other videos of this gun dont??

  • @iAREanthonyyy

Mostly it's the camera and when i was shooting it... It was dusk out when i took this so the the camera was taking a longer "exposure" for each frame of the movie, making the odds of catching each flash much higher and making each one seem brighter.

  • @darthvader906 u r a smart man (no sarcasm)

  • so this is the kel tec su 16ca as in the california legal model? obviously this is semi-auto...i want to make sure i can get a semi auto in california. anyone who can answer my question it would be greatly appreciated.

  • @DoctorSess Yeah, this is the CA model, and in my opinion is the best of the SU-16 series! I am in Cali too, and I got this from a dealer here so you are good to go on the legal front. Just don't put a flash suppressor or a forward grip on it and you will be golden.

  • @darthvader906

"Just don't put a flash suppressor or a forward grip on it and you will be golden."

haha you have a 30 round mag

  • @BucketPukes1969 It's true lol, but they are mags that I had legally before the ban on hi-caps was in place. Since it is not an assault rifle and they are legally owned mags, it's technically ok.... now would a cop think so? probably not. Yay california!

  • I wonder if flash hiders exist for the 16 lines

  • @R5H4D0W

Absolutely... it has the same tread pitch as an AR-15 so anything that will fit on that series will fit on an SU-16

  • I'm currently looking at a KelTec SU 16, and wanted to know what your opinion was on it since you've had one? What was the price you bought it for?

  • @ContractKiller37 It is a great rifle... i've really enjoyed mine and have had no issues to speak of... i bout mine about 3 years ago now, and i believe i got it for $550

  • This weeks gun reports rates the muzzle to be a major a problem for night shooting. You will experience night blindness due to the lack of a flash suppressor on the SU-16CA.

  • bumpfire??

  • no sir! just me pullin the trigger. The SU has a very fast light action and a very short motion trigger. you can shoot it pretty darn fast!

  • Sweeeeeeeet.

  • Wow. Were those blanks or something?! What kinda ammo is that?!

  • I think it was Federal NATO spec 5.56mm XM193

  • Nice! I'm surprised the camera caught every flash like that. Nice weapon too!

  • hard to tell from the video but it's actually like dusk out. It was just taken with a small canon pocket camera so in order for the camera to keep the brightness up to a reasonable level, it increases the exposure time of each frame slightly meaning the odds of it catching a flash go way up. Fortunately for us!

  • NICE SCOPE WHAT KIND IS It??

  • Eh it's really not a nice scope.. .just a Bushnell 3x9

  • so it's my 20 rounds of 223 that make ammo prices high...? what about the millions and millions of rounds being used by our military as they are actively fighting a war...?

  • ah bro from what im seeing, ur not using a flash suppressor right? cool vid bro

  • Good point there. Say how much is this rifle, I've never owned one, and thinking of getting one. I do own a 12 gauge shotgun which I love.

  • The gunstore i was recently working for sold them for right around $600

  • What are thoughts about this gun.

  • It's a great carbine. Light, accurate relatively cheap. Just don't make the mistake of comparing it to an AR; compare it to something like the Mini14.

  • Nice fire balls coming outta that weapon bro !

  • i dont know how you fit 30 bullets in 10rnd mag, nor how you got the mag to look like ar 30 rnd mag

    but , tyou did it

    nice vid

im thinking of getting this carbine, but, im not sure if its the best choice or not

  • It is a 30 round standard GI issue AR-15 magazine...

  • The Su-16 takes standard AR magazines, and the one he's using is a 30 rounder. I've heard a lot of good things about the rifle.

  • you don't understand my feigned surprised

its illegal where's he is at to have 30 rnd mag

  • Oh....I guess you mean California? It was my understanding that 30 rounders are legal so long as they were purchased before whatever date they passed that unconstitutional law.

  • money well wasted

  • Nice vid

  • if its not to late go with the kel tec... ar15s are nice but in my opion alil unpreactical for a real life situation were you would need to depend your life on a gun... simply because of the rather rigouse matanice they need and the finiky direct gas impingment were as with keltec they take ar mags there chambered for the 5.56 nato round but can still use .223 and there cheaper with a life time warrenty so that saved money can go towards ammo

  • This is the worst statement I have ever read. I have a keltec and a few AR's. The AR are 1 million times better than a plastic keltec. I've seen Keltec's explode in people's hands. They commonly experience FTF,and FTE every time you shoot them. They are the poor man's AR. If you can afford an AR, then get one.

  • I think calling it plastic isn't really fair towards the Kel-Tec. I mean Heckler and Koch have been making the G36 for a long while now. It's "plastic" I have seen many-a-time where an AR has blown up.

  • go with the carbine the keltec was designed for light use ie 5000 rounds of ammo the mini 14 will last you longer....

  • ya but the kel-tec still has a lifetime warranty:)

  • lifetime warranty??? i never heard of that i was planning on getting one anyway but still thats nice to know and besides judging by the reviews i have read online about how well made they are i bet it could still last way longer then 5000

  • Not legally anyway lol ;-)

  • The law in CA is that it is illegal to purchase, use or sell any high cap (over 10 rds) magazines that were manufactured after the year the law went in place (2000 i think). So using magazines that were purchased before then in a "featureless rife" (no pistol grip, collapsable stock, flash suppressor) is ok...

However, this does not hold true for anything with a fixed magazine, such as an SKS or an AR with a mag lock. Fixed mags cant be over 10 rounds.

  • nice video.. what were u shooting at???

  • haha... actually, it was an old computer... thing was shredded by the end of the day lol

  • Believe me, I wish I could... Good ol' California.

  • you mean commiefornia? yeah i live there too unfortunately. so many weapons i would like to own but i cant.

  • lol good one and yeah Cali sucks for doing that right to bear arms??? just not with a pistol grip or if its bigger than .49 of an inch or if its small thats ok go ahead and disrespect the founding fathers its ok

  • haha i know its not even the same thing to them. they believe the words can be twisted to fit their agenda.

  • i just ordered mine! i cant wait for it!

    woO!

  • i love my su-16 but mine has never given that much muzzle flash

  • same here...seriously, what brand of ammunition were you using?

  • I think it was Federal NATO spec 5.56x45mm M855

  • What kind of ammunition are you using? Mine never has a flash like that.

  • I don't entirely remember but I think it was Federal NATO spec 5.56x45mm M855. That's what I buy the most of so odds are...
