nice jeep, but im guessing they are not showing the motor in the vette because its really only a 350 small block. 7.54 in the 1/8 is only 11.84 in the quarter. My STOCK 345hp vette with a 100 shot went 11.55, so im guessing the vette does not have a 785hp big block, but most likely a mild small block. 785hp with no nitrous would put that vette into the 9s in the quarter and 6.18 in the eighth mile.

This looked more like a test run than the real thing. I have seen jeeps and vetts with a quarter of the HP jump off the line better than this video shows.
Also tires, gearing(for short VS longer runs ) and drivers make all the difference.

4wd cars have better take off then RWD? 4wd or awd has more parasitic loss then rwd and a drag suspension set up on a rwd will be a lot faster then an awd or 4wd car because itll save weight and have less wasted power.
Theres a reason top fuel is RWD and not AWD/4WD :) and most drag cars out there are RWD. Some slicks, lil light wheels up front and plenty of weight transfer and a RWD car will be glued to the ground on a properly set up track.
You're talking about RWD cars with engines in the middle or rear like a drag car or F1. A Corvette isn't an MR and therefore would have the disadvantage against an AWD car which has the front wheels pulling the car from where most of the weight is situated giving it better traction.
Parasitic loss of AWD chassis depends mostly on the chassis, but even then that sort of power loss accurs nearer to mid and top speeds not during acceleration.
Go look at how many front engine rear wheel drive drag cars there are........... Id say at least 80% of the cars running sub 10s are front engine, rear wheel drive [until you get into like top fuel, which is rear engine, rear wheel drive]
That's most definitely because all "sporty" cars have an FR drive train, simply being more common doesn't make them better at acceleration. In fact there's hardly any sporty cars that are AWD, other than cars that have evolved out of rally racing and the Skylines all of which are pretty new to the US market. Even American designed AWD sports cars aren't sold in America.
Why do you think they dont use AWD? Because it adds weight. A front engine RWD car is the easiest thing to make go fast on the 1/4. Rear engine, RWD is obviously the best, all the weight is on the rear end, gives you the best traction, but unless you want an old beetle and find a way to sandwich a powerful motor in there, then theres no stock cars to choose from. Ive seen some evos run 7s, but theres homebuilt dragsters in 5s with RWD.
Yes, it does add weight, thus the parasitic loss in mid to high speeds like i already mentioned. We could keep going back and fourth about the thing, because there's just too many variables to say either way.
Personally i think if you had some sort of car that could switch magically from a completely FR drivetrain to completely AWD then the FR would have better control and maneuverability and higher top speed because of less weight, but in the AWD condition it would easily take off faster despite the added weight simply because it has better traction, but would understeer more and have a lower top speed because of the weight.
Another reason for the better acceleration is simply because of the drive train, the Corvette has to send the power from the front to rear. The Jeep has to send power to the rear, but before that happens it's already got power right in the front wheels since the transmission is directly connected to the axles.
You could actually do a Jeep I6 4L stroker motor to a 4.7 or 4.8L [max is around 4.9L or 5L] plus they have turbo kits and supercharger kits for the 4L and aftermarket heads and cams. 400-500whp out of a Jeep straight 6 is perfectly attainable if you know what youre doing.
A turbo'd Jeep 4L stroker powered is something I plan on tackling in a few more projects.

Adding a turbo kit to a car..... is no issues, bending some pipe and welding it together is no issues. Welding a header, is not rocket science. I can either rebuild, bore and hone a 4L myself or buy a stroker motor with 300hp for around 3,000$ online. Hesco makes some nice stroker motors and has a great aluminum head. Getting 300whp is NO issue out of a 4L stroker. Adding boost only makes it go up. Try to learn something, retard.

In fact there's hardly any sporty cars that are AWD, other than cars that have evolved out of rally racing and the Skylines all of which are pretty new to the US market. Even American designed AWD sports cars aren't sold in America.

Why do you think they dont use AWD? Because it adds weight. A front engine RWD car is the easiest thing to make go fast on the 1/4. Rear engine, RWD is obviously the best, all the weight is on the rear end, gives you the best traction, but unless you want an old beetle and find a way to sandwich a powerful motor in there, then theres no stock cars to choose from. Ive seen some evos run 7s, but theres homebuilt dragsters in 5s with RWD.

Yes, it does add weight, thus the parasitic loss in mid to high speeds like i already mentioned. We could keep going back and fourth about the thing, because there's just too many variables to say either way.

Personally i think if you had some sort of car that could switch magically from a completely FR drivetrain to completely AWD then the FR would have better control and maneuverability and higher top speed because of less weight, but in the AWD condition it would easily take off faster despite the added weight simply because it has better traction, but would understeer more and have a lower top speed because of the weight.

Another reason for the better acceleration is simply because of the drive train, the Corvette has to send the power from the front to rear. The Jeep has to send power to the rear, but before that happens it's already got power right in the front wheels since the transmission is directly connected to the axles.

You could actually do a Jeep I6 4L stroker motor to a 4.7 or 4.8L [max is around 4.9L or 5L] plus they have turbo kits and supercharger kits for the 4L and aftermarket heads and cams. 400-500whp out of a Jeep straight 6 is perfectly attainable if you know what youre doing.
A turbo'd Jeep 4L stroker powered is something I plan on tackling in a few more projects.

Adding a turbo kit to a car..... is no issues, bending some pipe and welding it together is no issues. Welding a header, is not rocket science. I can either rebuild, bore and hone a 4L myself or buy a stroker motor with 300hp for around 3,000$ online. Hesco makes some nice stroker motors and has a great aluminum head. Getting 300whp is NO issue out of a 4L stroker. Adding boost only makes it go up. Try to learn something, retard.
