I thought that the Star Trek reboot wasn't a complete waste of time. I made out to that movie to tell the truth (not the whole movie; I actually wanted to watch it).
Ok, ok...I was trying to agree with the annotation at 30 seconds. The only ST movie truly I liked was the fourth one because it was HiLaRiOuS.
The eleventh one was way better than any of the movies, obviously. But it totally breaks the "odd ones suck" trend. Seriously. It really does. I liked it so much I went to see it three times in the opening weekend. Honestly. From now on, it is the only movie I will reccomend to trekkies and non-trekkies. After they watch it i'll let them see the rest.
I always thought the Original series after being shafted off the air so early and the long layoff between the series end and first movie always made the movies more welcome.
Whereas the Next series had more than twice as many seasons, with the movies all coming shortly after the end, which was probably why the movies kind of wore out their welcome.
I didn't think Nemesis by itself was horrible, but as a 'finale' for the Next cast, it just wasn't acceptable.
Hey, what do you expect, it's a huge franchise. And since when does a studio pass up a chance to milk the cow. They sure bet the farm on this thing though.
all reviews of this movie so far have been REALLY positive, its meant to have really engaging action that keeps you on the edge of your seat and not just pointless boring SFX. Its also meant to have really great characters/actors so i think this one will be a hit - just hope it does well at the box office and people dont go to see it just because of the name "Star Trek".

Looks like the combined forces of 10 and 11 may have essentially reversed the conventional Even/Odd Rule of Trek films...

@shinbanman it seems to have polarized the star Trek Movie principals... does that mean the new Star Trek 2 will suck?

@teddyrubskin
Man, I hope not!

@shinbanman XI was worse than X. Who would have thought it was possible?

I liked nine, simply plot. Didn't have to relay on an over-the-top plot.
