Probably the best singer / front man / songwriter this country has ever produced , still as cool as f**k, & as good as he ever was , fantastic new DVD & album out now !!!!
thanks for posting.Steve Gibbons Band was on ATV Television 'OTT' & poss 'Saturday Stay Back' circa '82 which I missed..any Midlands folk still got it stashed in their loft?
seen him live in birmingham brilliant!!!!! in 77-78 and picked him up when i was a taxi driver from the breeden bar in stirchley after one of his gigs
I used to have this album, Down in the bunker, by Steve Gibbons!!!!....It GOT NICKED!-like most of my brilliant music collection-Hmphh!!!- & I really liked it too!!!I didnt think I'd find it on here-but Yay! Cheers lots for putting this up-
Still alive ???? Saw him last night in Morecambe... great gig , great band , great bloke. Drinking with him/them 'till late after the gig... real gent.
Is Steve still alive? I saw him live in a pub in Dudley about ten years ago, the show was great, but poor old Steve looked well past his sell by date.
I actually saw Steve in Sweden this year, not my taste of music but he was pretty good. He had a band with some locals and some others, well "no spitting on the bus" was the best song in my opinion at the gig.
my kid brother did this song and tore the roof off the house.Love it and it will always remind me of Tommy John.Peace my friend and you watch them buggers on that bus
Cracking...is this the show that was on one satdy teatime? Or was that college rock or something? If I remember rightly it was a 1 hour concert shown at around tea time...would make a great post if any1 has it????

You can hear people screaming for this song on the Live at the Robin album.
Wonder why they never played it. seems v ery popular, was it not an original gibbons band song?

I disagree, saw him Cropredy afew years ago and was quite taken with him despite being about 40 years younger than him!! He's DEFINITELY still got it

The song`s construction reminds me of The Who`s Magic Bus - so coincidence they both feature bus in the title
leonaofficial 2 years ago
coincidence ? nah more like a bandwagon as jump on the band wagon . totally copied most of the who song
