You should listen to mark slaughter before Slaughter when he was front man for Vinnie Vincent Invasion. If you haven't heard that, they have videos on youtube. My favorite is "Love Kills" they did for Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors movie. Awesome tune. The 80's was the best time to grow up and party and rock out.
@HippiesPwn I went to High School in the mid 80s when rock ruled the radio, mtv, everything, no rap, no hip hop, no emos lol it was just riffs everywhere, we were spoilt musically when i look back, mind you the babyboomers were even more spoilt, The Beatles and classic rock from the 70s!
@OnTheLibraryComputer I was in high school in the mid 80's too - a true golden age - and there was Rock AND real Rap and Hip Hop happening then! Post Punk, all kinds of great stuff, AND I was loving The Beatles and classic 70's Rock!!!
Love/Hate could have been greater than any of the bands you are so much taking to some kinda race. They sure were second to none of the other 80's peers musically or by attitude. Promotion pro motion, that flipped the coin. Who got the best deal and the most airplay...
One of the very best bands ever..I wish we could bring back the rocking days when this band ruled..along with so many others of the 80's..and put an end to all of todays no talent trash, which the record companies are promoting..as to be real music,,what a fucking joke.
@RATTER53 Absolutely, there are so many sucky bands out there today, Like Coldgay, 3 Dorks Down and Pimpleback to name a few, + Five Finger Muff Munch and the Boo Fighters too, There are bands like this still out there today, all it takes is one new song. Airbourne's a good new band, how about playing them more, but I totally agree with you.
The old Salt Palace arena...many great memories. at 0:15 all those security pylons were set out because a few fans were crushed during a previous AC/DC concert. The general admission tickets were awesome back in the day; front row all the time
For anyone who does not know ,Tim Kelly was Slaughter's guitarist, who died in a car accident..Tim was involved in a fatal car accident while traveling on Highway 96 in Arizona Feb 5 1998.
@csmpeoil Pantera ruined metal? LOL. They played live for over 1 million ppl Monsters of Rock in Russia. LOL. I'm from the mid 80's into the 90's era. My first tape I ever listened to was Blizzard of Ozz I bought at a pawn n dime. There's nothing wrong with hairspray metal either. Matter of fact Scorpions and Dokken were same era as these guys really, aside from starting periods they hit the airwaves with hits around the same time anyway, Pantera's just more hardcore grind.

I've been going to concerts since I was 12, and have seen bands like Kiss, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Maiden, White Lion, Winger, Europe, Tyketto etc. and in April I'm going to my first Slaughter concert! :D
@sweetmelodies89 you saw all those bands back in the day and you're going to your first slaughter concert? how did you manage to miss them back then? I first saw 'em tour with kiss in 1990.
@csmpeoil I'm 21 years old mate, I was born when these guys were starting out. I've seen a lot of bands since an early age thanks to the bands that are still playing, even though they're all old now they can rock out hard and way better than todays bands... alias says sweetmelodies89 and 89 was the year I was born...
btw I so envy you that u saw them in their hey-day! cool!
Yeah you were born during the heart and soul of that magical era. I was born at the right time to live through it. Unlike today, there was a lot of variety from glam to thrash to choose from. Thanks to Youtube it still lives. Pantera came along and ruined it to the extent that a lot ignorant people nowadays think they invented heavy metal which ultimately opened the floodgates to allow all these bullshit bands since the late 90's known as "heavy music" to exist.
@csmpeoil yepp I agreww with ya. Pantera, Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc. they ruined it all. What's the point playing an off tune guitar, wearing a sock on your head and write depressing lyrics?
btw dude, earlier today I got home from Sweden Rock Festival, a 4 day hard rock fest in southern Sweden. I saw bands like, Cinderella, Winger, Aerosmith, Steel Panther (funny guys ;p), Gnr (or Axl Solo), Gary Moore, Y&T, Treat etc, had a blast! quality music is still alive in Sweden... 35.000 people was there!
Mark Slaughter still tours. He's made millions and probably fucked more centerfold type women than you could ever imagine. He's probably had threesomes, foursomes and orgies while you jack off in the back room of Walmart on your break time. While you were fingering the fat girl down the street this band was touring, rocking and fucking hot women every night! They were living the dream! And you? Looks like your jealousy has made you bitter and angry! If anyone is gay, it's YOU!
LMAO @ your comment ! Very well said. These men aren't GAY! Blas Elias, now drummer with Blue Man Group married and has kids in Nev. Dana Strum is involved in real estae in Nev. LovinRocknRoll4Ever, thank you for explaining that because there are a lot of miserable, negative people on here that comment that they look bad or sound bad to them or not like they use to, it's because they are on drugs. I thank you once again.
This was filmed at Long Beach Arena, opening for KISS on the Hot in the Shade Tour Summer 1990, I saw the show in Cleveland at the RIchfield Coliseum, awesome show.
Dokken are my all time favourite, i would have loved to been able to say i was there at one of theirs. who are your modern fav. ? of todays rock and roll/metal/heavy etc.
I've seen Slaughter at the Coca-Cola Pavillion in Destination Daytona, on June 12, 2008 it was fucking awesome I actually saw the soundcheck before the show after that I caught up with them and Mark Slaughter & Dana Strum signed my two Slaughter album covers. I was in the front row, during the show Mark Slaughter threw water at my face, it was awesome I didn't mind, and I caught a pick from Dana Strum and I still have it.

LovinRocknRoll4Ever, thank you for explaining that because there are a lot of miserable, negative people on here that comment that they look bad or sound bad to them or not like they use to, it's because they are on drugs. I thank you once again.

I'm an old school hard rocker and I'm proud of it, of course my biggest influence is KISS.

I sure as hell would love to see Slaughter again.
