Actually the amount of tea depends on how strong you want it, i like to use more in mine too. Also, the steep time was almost right, you want to do any white at no more than two minutes usually because it's a sensitive tea. You CAN make any tea cold, just use twice as much as you normally would and then pour it over ice. When it melts, it diffuses the flavor. Nice review!
I love Teavana's teas. The German rock sugar is cool too because it's actually really healthy! It grows on beets, that's why it's that reddish brown color, but because of that it has a lot of vitamins and minerals in it. Try their "Emporor's Clouds And Mist" tea, it's a really nice smokey green tea with great flavor
Tea is wonderful. Such variety and various types available. I personally go for Twinings Earl Grey, ad hot as you can get it. Good enough for Picard, good enough for me.
Jeff, don't you know that caffeine is a horrible drug that is endangering the lives of our children every day? How could you be so thoughtless and insensitive as to post videos encouraging the use of such a terrible substance?!?!?!
Darn you Jeff!!! After watching this I went to the Teavana website and purchased 4 different types of tea, the teamaker and some storage tins....They are sending me a sample of the tea you reviewed as a free gift too...
Tea is good for you, it may not make you stay young and live forever but it will definitely make you more healthy. I use to drink Tea, water and fruit juices and I use to feel great but lately I got lazy and started drinking pop and energy drinks, I don't feel invigorated and sharp as I use too when I drank healthy stuff. But stay away from sugar, always go with sugar free stuff
Chamomille isn't actually tea. Unfortunately "tea" has become a big umbrella term for any plant steeped in water, whether it actually has tea leaves in it or not. The only "tea" which is actually tea are white, green, oolong, and black (and variations thereof, like pu-erh). "Herbal tea" isn't tea as it usually just contains various herbs, fruits, and roots.
If you like tea, order from Adagio. Their teas are fantastic, and the site encourages community reviews for points (discounts on more tea!)
Teavana is like my home away from home. As far as how much tea leaves to use; in that tea steeper, you should fill the container with water, and use two teaspoons of tea leaves.
I got some cheap loose leaf tea like this for Christmas and it started my hobby in fine teas. Hopefully this encourages you to research it more and start getting into nice teas from world class vendors! It's incredibly in-depth, with whole cultures and ceremonies being made around the art of tea making. Teavana is a good starting point, but not nearly up to the quality of fine teas. It's like box wine vs wine from Napa Valley.
Also, tea is somewhat similar to tobacco. The best tea you can get is the loose variety, like pipe tobacco and cigars and all the leftovers are put in the bags, like cigarette tobacco.
By the way, get used to brushing teeth after every smoke. If you do this, your teeth should stay even healthier than if you weren't smoking, because you probably wouldn't brush your teeth that often.
I never use sugar in my tea. And I very rarely drink fruit tea. But I drink tea every day. Good old chinese black or green tea is the way to go. I used to put sugar in my tea for my whole life until I tried tea without any sugar some years ago. Since then, the idea of sweetening tea makes me sick. It's okay in coffee though.
I have to say that I'm now interested in Teavana. I drink tea fairly regularly...though I've just been doing the Celestial Seasonings, Chai Tea...that kind of thing. Speaking of Celestial Seasonings, their Bengal Spice is extremely good.
What I love about you - you know what your talking about, you don't bias from your own thoughts, and if you don't know something you don't assume anything you just explain it as an ignorance...your a solid guy
Awesome! I saw Jdavis's video too, my friend has one of these! They're awesome! My dad drinks tea daily, I've grown up on regular earl grey tea, good stuff!
there is this really cool type of tea here where i live and i buy the plant its called manzanilla (its spanish) and it has a flavor similar to like honey and its really really good i highly recommend it and its good for digestion
What a great review, right up my alley cus I just love tea. I never had this kind or variety so I will get it asap, cus like you I now have to get it. LOL. Ps. I love the way you make your videos, Always a pleasure to watch.
ehh i dont like teavanna myself too much, i agree with the top comment. adagio has much better customer service even thought they have a down side of using flavoring
@blanc10 a bunch of people bothering me trying to give me free tea when I walk into a tea store...whats not to like? lol If their annoying just play with them a bit, keep asking to try stuff thyats all they will leave you alone after the 15th sample then on a full stomache you can pick what you liked and be on your way
Lol.... Im as inpatient as you are Jeff. I also saw JDavis' video and promptly made my tea order. I'm more of a coffee guy but I would like to start drinking ice tea as my main beverage everyday instead of sweeter sodas and juices.
@AllyourFriendsss it works very well and I found its not too sweet doesnt taste as sweet as regular sugar which I like but you need more to get the same sweetness you desire from sugar
Jeff you should try Rooibos its red tea. Actually a herb harvested from a african bush. Its extremely high in antioxidants, has no caffeine or tannin and tastes awesome.
Jeff, I personally feel that the reality of you occasionally enjoying a pipe and having concern for your teeth and overall health for that matter would be so minimalistic it would provoke questioning its validity. However, I'm not doctor nor a dentist and I applaud you for striving to live a healthier lifestyle. I can only speculate but pipe smoking seems to be right up your ally. I wish you the best of luck. Keep on truckin brother!
@CIarcher18 I enjoy it, and will continue to smoke, right now I have a bowl every other night sometiems 2, after my teeth are fixed they need to heal so no smoking for a few weeks, after that who knows, once in a while to try new bacci...I have so many I want to try!
Great stuff, I love herbal and fruit teas and would like to see you doing more of these reviews to give me some ideas on new teas I could try. My favourite single ingredient tea is Nettle Tea, it's got a fantastic flavour and if you have never tried it you should.
@Xelian86 If you like to sweeten your tea but don't want the calories from sugar or the change in flavour that honey gives you could try Agave Nectar/Agave Syrup. Made from the Agave succulent which is what Tequila is made from. It's definitely a healthier option than both sugar and honey and has no flavour, just sweetness. It's more expensive obviously, and it's touted for being 2.5x sweeter than sugar so you use less, but I don't think that's the case.
Drink Teavana tea all the time GREAT health benifits. I dont care for the fruity tea that much. But definately try Silver Needle white tea, I love that stuff. Dragon Well and Gyokoro are great green tea.
Hey CutleryLover, if you want to know a bunch of information about Tevana Tea, I work there and have tried almost everything on their roster. It's great stuff.
Some say that your videos are long winded. I think they are fabulous, the way they are done in mostly one take. They're really laid back, and almost conversational. It's like a friend telling me about something they think is cool (which isn't a common thing on the tubes). You don't seem to care about views, you care about the viewer. I honestly feel like you're a friend... I hope you don't mind.
