Totally disagree you should be able to test drive a employee before you hire him, if he talks well at a interview but them proves to be useless or worse dangerous, see you later.
@strainedcalf1 That might be ok in theory, but there is nothing to stop an unfair dismissal of an employee. Somebody shouldn't be fired without a good reason, it could mean that their whole lives and financial affairs could be sent into chaos, particulary if they are feeding a family or they have bills to pay, and there is nothing to stop a boss discriminating or firing somebody for personal reasons. 90 days of uncertainty is 90 days too many.
Sue's comments on why this bill should have gone through select committee review are right on the money. I could have done with less of the playing on emotions, but her points stand to reason.
