  • Bobby Labonte let him win ;)

  • I was watching Nascar RaceDay on Speed the morning before this, and they were interviewing David Pearson behind the 21 team's hauler, and asked him point blank if Trevor could win, and without hesitation he said "yes, if he keeps his head clear and stays focused he will win." That last lap, sliding up from in front of Labonte to catch the Edwards/Gilliland tandem that would've otherwise passed him is about as focused as it gets!

  • Love his reaction after the finish: "whaaatwheh"

  • Not to sound like a downer here and I'm happy for bayne, but he never would have won this race if all the good drivers didn't get knocked out in a huge wreck earlier. All we had left after that were the scrubs except for Carl Edwards and kurt busch everyone else was either 30 laps down or just dnf.

  • @ddevilchris9331

Come on give him a break. There wasn't a scratch on that #21 car. He ran great in qualifying and the duel races prior to the 500. I doesn't matter if some of the big name drivers where out of the race, it is that case ever year as it is, and Trevor is becoming a big name driver, not cuz of his name, but cuz of his talent and his attitude toward others.

  • @ddevilchris9331 You have to remember two things. One, he was JUST shy of the pole for the Coke Zero 400, and the commentators later were talking about Bayne saying he needed to be the pusher over the radio because he kept pulling away from whoever was pushing him when he was in front!

  • @ddevilchris9331 Funny how people still make excuses on how people won the 500. By that token I guess Fred Lorensen's victory in 65 wasn't all that great because it was rain shortened, Or Dale Sr's win was cheap because the race ended under caution so we would never know how it would have gone if it went 200 laps, etc. A win in the 500 is monumental no matter how you get it.

  • @peteyquickk he's the youngest Daytona 500 winner ever. Jeff gordon was the youngest at 25 years old when he won in 1997. :)

  • this was awsome ,
