Vick could throw accurately when his mechanics were good. But his mechanics were rarely good. Hopefully, the guy learned some humility. Uhh..Ryan threw a better completion percentage in his rookie year then Vick ever had for his career. Ryan threw and averaged more yards per completion then Vick did his entire career. Ryan threw for more TDs then Vick ever had for his career. Ryan is way better then Vick was because he can actually pass. Vick was a RB who had an insanely strong arm and no mechanics.
White wasn't the pro bowler he is now BECAUSE of Vick. Also you can't blame the receivers for a 50% completion percentage. It's the QB's job to get the ball to his receivers and Vick couldn't do that consistently. And it's not like Vick was alone out there, he had Crumpler and Dunn in the backfield.
i'll give u some of that vick was a good passer his first few years but then he got lazy with it. but his recivers dropped everything. all he had for a reciver was crumpler. and that o-line could not block Vick took that team from shit to respectable. @220friend first of all jake d is whack. mike vick can throw.. but the falcons o line was terrible so he never cud stay in the pocket.therfore he ran. but he can fire the ball when he needs to. his arm is amazing

@schausten101 yeh jake delhomme sucks, and he's made throws that are 10 times better then this..and you think the panthers oline was great up until last year? vick might have a good arm but so does jamarcus russell and look where that got him..and you think that the reason why michael vick ran so much was because of the online, please vick could have been behind the 91 cowboys oline and he still would have run 80% of the time.

@schausten101 michael vick has never been a good qb..even at virginia tech..everyone always talks about how good of a qb vick COULD be, but he's never pulled it off, he's always been a great running qb and he might be able to throw the ball, but that's never translated on the field..so talk all you want about how he has an amazing arm but that dosn't mean shit unless he shows it on the feild.

@schausten101 Take off the blinders and look at Vicks plays with an open mind. He created his own pressure by rolling into rush lanes. Receivers didn't know if they were supposed to complete their pattern or start blocking downfield. Vick is a Great RB,but a very average QB.

Check out Matt ryans pass to Roddy white Week 3 in 2008 against the chiefs. Thats a throw that vick could never make. And Ryan was a rookie!

Mike vick WAS more threatening becuase he could run. but Ryan is going to be better than Vick ever could. If i had to chose between Vick at his best and Ryan right now. I would definitely pick Ryan.

I was at this game, way up in the nosebleeds. It looked like we had a chance at this point but then those sorry ass Cowboys beat us then we had to listen to all those bandwagon Cowboy fans talk shit after the game. Most of them never even been to Texas.

Not to mention Roddy White had his own issues with regards to working hard and concentration which is why he was benched in the first place.
And there's a reason why Roddy White was the only receiver to blossom in their career after leaving Vick or after he left Atlanta.

Roddy White's emergence was due to a change in work ethic. He never did anything to train, he just relied on his talent. When Hue Jackson came in as OC he went and did everything possible to get Roddy off his ass. Including staying at his home to make sure he didn't go clubbing the night before practice and show up late.

Uhh..Ryan threw a better completion percentage in his rookie year then Vick ever had for his career. Ryan threw and averaged more yards per completion then Vick did his entire career. Ryan threw for more TDs then Vick ever had for his career. Ryan is way better then Vick was because he can actually pass. Vick was a RB who had an insanely strong arm and no mechanics.

It's the QB's job to get the ball to his receivers and Vick couldn't do that consistently. And it's not like Vick was alone out there, he had Crumpler and Dunn in the backfield.

i'll give u some of that vick was a good passer his first few years but then he got lazy with it. but his recivers dropped everything. all he had for a reciver was crumpler. and that o-line could not block Vick took that team from shit to respectable. He could've been a way better passer but he got too run happy and lost his mechanics he was accurate his first few years. but his wr did not help nor did his o-line he always had to scramble away from pressure which caused him 2 forget bout the pas

@lakershd Did Vick ever lead them to back-to-back playoff seasons? No. Didn't think so. All Vick can do is run. One good throw doesn't make a good quarterback, because if it did Antwaan Randel El would be in the Hall of Fame for that throw in Super Bowl XL. And for all the people who say the Falcons suck, watch what happens this season. Ryan will bounce back and Turner will be healthy again. Just watch.

@lakershd Funny how everyone always said Vick didn't have weapons in ATL. Then when he leaves, Jenkins and White put up their best seasons and White is regarded as one of the best WR's in the NFL. Maybe it wasn't the players, maybe it was the guy under center. If Vick learned to read defenses AT ALL, the Falcons would have won Super Bowls. He was outspoken in his refusal to learn. How can you be a fringe playoff team with a QB who runs for 1,000 yds? Because he couldn't pass consistently.

@dmac14af how about Vick's o-line could not pass block to save their lives. His WR dropped passes like crazy (in no way can that be Vick's fault) Yeah he could've passed better, but if you put any other qb on those ATL teams you get 4-12 every year. He basically did it all. him Dunn and crumpler.

Mike vick with no o-line=3 pro bowls, 1000 yd rushing season, nfc championship game (even though he stunk the field up that game due to his o-line letting everyone and their mama in to killing vick). look. Vick imo takes 50% of the blame for his passing woes in atl. but the other 50%? look at the o-line and the crappy excuses for coaches. enough said.
