  • She sounds and looks so much like her daughter Liza here. The same mannerism voice nervous laughter shes just like her daughter so beautiful.

  • I think she said Easter Parade was her favorite because Peter was there. Liza said that Presenting Lily Mars was Judy's favorite - or at least it was Liza's.

  • Where did you find this? This is such a rare clip and supposedly difficult to find. Thank you for posting it.

  • get over it, people, she was totally bombed

  • Ow Judy! Why do the good ones always die so young?

  • as much as i think she is amazing and we are lucky to have her as a screen legend, but i wish she had had a normal life with a happy childhood and loving family... especially mother... away from the drugs and all

  • Oh so painfully thin.

  • She's happy. And to watch this makes me happy too. I love when Judy gets giddy. I giggle right along with her!

  • No other star could look like she's about to fall completely to pieces, while retaining all of her considerble charm while doing so.

  • I love the dress, she was good at designing if that was her first attempt. This is a great interview, Mike was a class act and never said anything bad about anyone.

  • This poor poor woman!

  • You can wath Easter Parade and the feather story is true. One part its all feathery and the next shot u see it all covered in vaseline.. LOL

  • She seems like she's very dull -- maybe she was a great performer but she wasn't very glib or interesting in conversation.

  • @TheDamienZone How can u say she was dull? try watching the judy garland show and the Jack Paar show.. it was thatshow that showed she could be a great converstionalist and led to her tv series..

  • @TheDamienZone are you kidding? Go check out some other interviews, she's hilarious and highly intellectual in a normal conversation.

  • ahh, I love her (:

  • wow beautiful dress for a woman like her im doing a report on her tomorrow

  • wow, she's 46 here, she seems much older, life was hard on her.

  • reminds me of edie beale! "you can always take off the skirt ans where it as a cape!"

    judy was so incredible...

  • Peter was in Girl Crazy, he had 1 line in the film it was When Mickey wanted his father to get him out of the college & Peter made a comment he played one of the students with a cowboy hat & jeans. It's funny an englishman playing a cowboy. June Alyson was also in Girl Crazy. She sang a solo with Tommy Dorsey's band in the nightclub. Girl Crazy was made in 1943 Peter & June weren't big name stars yet at MGM. In this interview, Peter helps get Judy relaxed & gives her tremendous amount of support.

  • Did Peter do his own singing in Easter Parade or did someone dub his voice? Still not obvious to me.

  • @Goedhartbros Peter Lawford did his own singing in EASTER PARADE. MGM MADE SURE ALL THEIR STARS COULD DANCE ACT AND SING..

  • the set looks like the dating game

  • I still laugh out loud when she said that she and Peter met when they were both fetuses.. Judy had a great sense fo humor

  • if Judy hadn't died when she did I could have seen her in one of the big 80s soaps like Dallas or Dynasty

  • @motgfan Dynasty & Falcon Crest were the 2 soaps in Primetime that was more about Glamour excessive surroundings, clothes, jewelry etc. than they were about the depth of its characters & storylines. Dallas was more realistic about its characters. DYNASTY & FC were more like the old MGM years, by being about over the top & excessive. FC always had Guest Stars from Judy's era on its show Like Lana Turner, Leslie Caron, Cesar Romero, Robert Stack, Kim Novak Eddie Albert. Judy would've fit right in

  • Easter Parade wasjust on a PBS show over the weekend and the rain sequence does show the feather covered in Vasoline.LOL

  • People don't realize that a singer, especially a great singer isn't always in the best of voice. She gave 1000% to her audiences and when a person is a real singer, they not only sing the song but they tell a story with the ability to connect with those listening. She had personal problems and a very rough life, surrounded by many people only out for themselves and looked at her not as a person but a commodity. Hollywood is a cruel town especially when she grew up in the spotlight.

  • Unfortunately Judy didn't believe in herself as much as she should have, you can see her get more and more comfortable as the interview progresses and as she relaxes she's wonderful:) I f I could go back in time and give Judy one thing it would be the power to believe in herself all the time, sometimes she had it and some times she didn't and may be that's what ultimately drove her to her downfall...I don't know.

  • Judy Garland-classy.

  • The Golden Years seem like fun :)

  • Judy has the most wonderful laugh! She's so cute! I wanna have film stories one day. I wanna be an actress, it seems so fun to sit and talk about being on set. I've always wanted to be an actress since I was little. And seeing all these amazing Classic Hollywood stars rienforces that and it makes me wish things were still the same too. These days, you have remakes, sequels and 3D left and right. Anyone notice that movies back then had no sequels and there were barely any remakes?

  • Thanks I love this!!

  • There will never be such actresses as Judy Garland in Hollywood again! These actresses of her era had talent and class. To much sex is in the actresses in our age.

  • What a wondeful clip! Thank you so much for posting this! I've never seen this! RIP Judes.

  • Did they really sing together, or was Peter only lip synching A Fella With An Umbrella?

  • @Indygoguy NO SHE WAS NOT A METH HEAD!!!! She had her troubles with perscription drugs and alcohol but she wasn't into anything like that. and if you have a problem with it then don't comment or watch the videos. Judy Garland had her troubles and quite often still put on a show regardless of her health or how she was feeling. She was an amazing performer, comedian and mother. There will never be anyone like her again. RIP Judaline!! I love you!!

  • @msGarlandGirl Preach sista! Thats right damnit! I love Judy Garland no matter what! She deserves more credit than she got and she is missed everyday!

  • @msGarlandGirl I agree with you totally. These people who feel the compulsion to spread rumors about a person they never met and add to all the hype that already surrounds this Legend amazes me to no end. If you dont like her then don't watch the clips. She was a human being & never did anything but please those around her with her talent. It says a lot about a person who could bad mouth someone who has passed on. It says they are ignorant fools & shows their parents didnt raie them correctly.

  • This makes me sad.

  • nothing like her. a goddess

  • She was a total meth head

  • if poor judy needed courge she should have talked to the cowardly lion. lol

  • She's Goofly Gorgeous...i love Judy Garland!!

  • Sad to see what happened to a young beautiful girl, Doroty

Wizard of Oz, maybe if he could tell him in advance, the fate is not so formed. It was a wonderful actress.

  • people with this much talent have to be born. you can't teach someone to be a judy garland.

  • 3:04 Mike says his band never stands after he sings. They were in the presence of a Master Artist, of course they stood.

  • She was used and abused by so many people. Her insides must have been close to 180 years old when she died at 47.

  • que son esas flores atras? horribles. Todo el decorado es terrible.!!!!!

  • What a charming, sett, classy woman. God love her, and I know she is at peace now.

  • I would have bought her clothes!

  • On a Sunday the 22nd of June 1969, The World woke up to the News of Judy Garland's death. The news sent shock waves across the entire planet & for the 7 days the media paid homage to " A Great Lady who had the Ultimate Interview"! Judy, Your fans still mourn your passing. I have the comfort of knowing your spirit was embraced by GOD & that HE showed you HIS infinite peace & all that heaven has too offer you. U brought a lot of joy to me & I thank God for creating you. RIP on this 6/22/10

  • She was a great storyteller! The feather story is hilarious!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY!

  • When she was rested and not under constant pressure you can tell the difference. She's very relaxed and her singing voice was in great shape. Thank you for posting this. It's the clearest version I've seen!

  • Where was this show taped? Cleveland,Ohio or Philly,Pa.?

  • These shows were aired in Mississippi in September of that year, and I remember watching this one afternoon as a teenager.

  • Regarding Mike not remember the song from the movie - in 1968 there were no vhs or dvd movies - if you didnt see the movie when it was in theaters in the late 40's (even then, they only played theaters a week or so), you didn't see it at all - unless it played on tv.

  • She has a mental problem. All because of those drugs I bet and the lost childhood. Her parents will pay big time.

  • Even the no account skid row bum Lawford (who used to turn on with his own son) can't ruin this wonderful piece. Thanks for posting.

  • My God, her whole body so obviously ruined by drugs and she is only in her 40s. She looks 75. Someone, somewhere, is paying in hell for harming her so irrevocably, and it ain't Judy, I'll tell you that.

  • When Mike asked Judy if she had sung with Fred Astaire in Easter Parade, he let on (maybe he shouldn't have) that he hadn't seen this great film. It was a great success, critically and at the box office.

  • love her speaking voice!

  • "I rehearsed for 3 weeks Judy rehearsed for a day"

Bet that was true - she hated to rehearse - she had instant recall so she was brilliant anyway and didnt really need to like ordinary mortals

  • what a story teller she was...joy!

  • Love this interview

  • She's so cute in this interview .. I love the little wiggle she does at 5:10 when talking about Easter Parade. Lovely video. :)

  • Wow! Quick! Call ChunkyLumps....he's been looking for this!

  • she was only 46 here but looks 66

  • Funny story 6:30:-)

  • Wow...this is the dress she wore in her last concert.

  • What a Treat! She originally was not going to appear but Mike talked to her the way she should have always been approached. With respect.

  • what a wonderful, fabulous woman she is - she's almost childlike here, gushing over her dress :p

  • 6:30 - funny story, but Peter's incorrect ... you can clearly see the doors on/in the sidewalk and them turning around to look at them ... put "Judy Garland - Fella with an Umbrella - Easter Parade" in the youtube search and look go to 3 min 10 sec and look!
