hey alex... where did you get the 88cc kit from? im looking to get one for my 1984 atc70. did the kit come with everything or did you need to get other parts else where? thanks...juan
I have a crf70 for my son and just got the 88cc bbk from Trail Bikes. Once install is complete whait is needed for first start? Is there break in sequence needed for the rings to seat correctly? I have heard different things- run 1/8 throttle for 10 min- then let cool for 30 min, run 1/4 throttle for 5, let cool and then good to go. Is that good? What do you suggest?
Thanks for posting the video! I never understood why the copper washer went on the bottome left stud. I do now.
I just ride the bike easy on some trails or somewhere that it won't get revved up or really hot for 30 minutes or so then give it hell. There are so many different methods that are "the best way." Just do what makes you feel good.
Sorry I dont know how to post a comment on youtube yet. This is for TheAlexMan. First, thanks for the instructions. They made the work easy. I am not sure on what to do about one thing. There is a vent/vacuum tube that comes off the small box on the frame that went to the old carb/air filter. What did you do with that? I didnt see anywhere to attach it on the new carb.
hello i want to have some information on this kind of engine who showed in the video , if someone have information of where we can buy it send me a message
i have a 88kit in mine, i bought it that way. Well its tapping very loud at all rpms. If with the motor off if i move the rotor back and forth you can here it tap. Any thoughts as to what this might be? Ever seen rod bearings go out? i dont know what els it could be.
valves were adjusted. That was the first thing i checked. I dont know what els it could be other than rod bearings. Can you think of anything? If it helps in the high rpm range it boggs out.
Thats the only thing i have checked. The only other thing i can think of is to check the timing. What i dont understand is with the motor off and set to tdc on the compression stroke. If i move the rotor back and forth it makes the clanking noise. I dont think it would be the valves as they dont move on the compression stroke. What are your thoughts? And thanks for the reply's!
Well, could be that the piston is contacting the head if the wrong parts were used. Check the cam timing. If that doesn't immediately tell you what's wrong I'd say it's time to pull the top end and inspect everything. The rod bearings don't really go bad with these motors, but I'm not saying it's not possible.
More info about it. xr 2001 bottom end with the takegawa 88 kit, PC18 Khenin carburetor. I see in the 88cc s-stage combo kit it doesnt come with a high volume oil pump. Could that cause it.
Is that a Honda bottom end or Chinese clone. If it is a Honda bottom end, what kind of Manual Clutch kit did you use? Love your videos. I have a 99 z50 that I want to build up into a backyard mxer. I'm putting xr/crf 70 front suspension with the xr75/80 rear and a decent shock that I haven't located yet. What do you think about the TB108 kits? Isn't that your kit with the stroker crank? Are you still running the stock 3 speed trans? Sorry for all the questions , I'm just a 50cc noobie.
1984 Z50R bottom end. ATC70 4 speed tranny. TB manual clutch with billet basket. 108 kit has a lot more torque. Yes it has a stroker crank but also a slightly different piston. Same bore but different deck height and pin height.
hey me again got my z50 running and if you slowly pull the throttle it goes but if you go past certain point or do it fast then it bogs down

It's the one that comes with the kit. It's a Shengwey 20mm which is a knock off of a Keihin 20mm.

Yes.
TheAlexManVideos 2 years ago
how much fast can you go after the mod?
seb182c 2 years ago
Depending on gearing, should be able to hit 55 or 60 mph.
TheAlexManVideos 2 years ago
Wait, are you saying with stock gearing i could go like 50?
XR50ryder 2 years ago
If your motor revs high enough. I do not have stock gearing.

Adjust your valves. DO NOT RUN THE MOTOR UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE THIS!

what mm is the carb i just put 85cc kit on my honda 50 and ppl said i nedda run a 70cc honda carb let me kno thanks
mohalkcrazy7 3 years ago
This carb is 20 mm. You can probably use either the carb off of a 70 (17mm), an 18mm, or a 20mm.
