The military has no use for a veteran with missing limbs or brain trauma. The more money the govt spends on veterans means the less money they have to pay for more weapons and start more wars. If you're willing to sacrifice your life to protect our country, the govt will be more than happy to sacrifice you to protect the rich.

See, housing is treated as a prize or commodity. But even nature shows us that everyone and everything needs a home. Even the humble turtle doesn't go without a shelter, yet we allow people to go without housing. We've got to show people that housing isn't a luxury - it's a REQUIREMENT for healthy living.

@MarmaladeINFP yes, you are RIGHT!!! Most of the homeless I have been in contact with are/were veteren's. I would say at least half of the homeless are Veterans.
Once you get out of the military, they have no more use for you. You get tossed aside like trash. We are more willing to help people in other countries rather than the people who defend and serve our country.
Its a cryin shame.

My sympathies to Troy. However, I can't support a cause that spread half-truths. Troy's emotional interview will get him a few donations, but that'll only be a temporary fix.

This man points out the REAL problem in America. The McMansion mindset. If we would embrace/encourage smaller, reasonably sized housing, prices would drop, material prices would drop, and people would be happier in general. Hope this man gets a home soon - maybe a small home.

@KlassiK891 That's a kind thought, but the answer to the problem isn't more "homeless shelters". The answer is a change in mindsets in America and the world. See, housing is treated as a prize or commodity. But even nature shows us that everyone and everything needs a home. Even the humble turtle doesn't go without a shelter, yet we allow people to go without housing. We've got to show people that housing isn't a luxury - it's a REQUIREMENT for healthy living.

Ahh dude... This interview hit me hard.
Some of these interviews really make me feel for the homeless. I try and do my part to help. I give money, food, clothing to the homeless guys and gals but it never feels like I am giving enough.

@ElectricMuffins You are so correct the year is expected to close out with 1G forclosures. That is for this year alone. I would not doubt if we see another 1G forclosures next year. Everyone should have a plan for emergency shelter and shower in the event they are shown the door. That plan should have way to travel BIKE place to sleep HAMMOCK way to cook (ALCOHOL STOVE in the city+TWIG STOVE in the bush) way to purify water FILTER sanitation SHOVEL self defense hunting 22LR PISTOL&RIFFLE.

Dam obama, great going for every single one of us. In some way or another we were effected by the ressesion. Heck i'm having to drop out of collage because i need to pay off my loan early so i dont need to worry about it eather. Even then i dont have the deploima i want from it so. Srew the economy and the government. Hell he's worrse of then me, and i'm trying to work my ass off to keep from ending up in the ditch.

Ya know I find it kind of tiring. I see all these people saying in the comments that they'll pray for a person. Most of these people won't make an effort to help them though, just pray for them.
We need action not prayers, yet most of society wont help Troy or people like him. Invisible people tv, thank you for showing the world all the problems with the world today. I have a feeling that you can show people they need to care a little more than just supporting the idea.
