@slongwill He's using an R4 along with a micro SD card to play the Pokemon game on his DS. After he plays a wifi battle, he uses an item you get in the game to record the wifi battles he does online & then saves the game. Then, on your micro sd card, it creates a ".sav" file. He copies the ".sav" file onto his computer, and then uses an emulator to play it. He told me he uses Desmume emulator, but I wonder how he got it to work on it cause Desmume doesn't support ".sav" files, only ".dst" files.
@DoomedR lol thanks, but I already found how to doing a different method. Basically when I loaded the ".sav" it didn't work, but it created a ".dsv" file in the "battery" folder. So I opened my Pokemon White rom, then clicked "Load save state from..." and chose "All files" and chose the ".dsv" file it created and it loaded perfectly.
how are you recording these / playing these battles sunny?

@rockronak119 There's a folder called "Battery", you have to put your sav file in there (with the same name as the rom)
