@ButterOnMyBiscuit move the timeline thing at the bottom .. no need for a new mask... when the area you want blurred has moved, place a key frame there and move the mask to the new area... keep repeating until you've successfully blurred everything you want to blur

Thanks. I also found a missing step. I had to move the masked video track above the master video track. It then activated the masked portion. This step is not mentioned in the Vegas helpfile.

I must be really dense. I'm using Vegas 8 Pro and the mask applies properly. But when I put the pixelate plug-in on the first track it affects the entire track. If I use the pixleate plug-in on the 2nd track I see no effect. What am I skipping?

As far as I know, yes. Vegas 8 comes with all of the effects that were in Vegas 7. Vegas 9 comes with all the effects from both, I believe.

Click on Event pan and crop, look in the corner, if you don't see mask this dosn't work for you. If you still want to blur out someones identity you can try a black box, or check out SAV FX Ep 1 Identity removal

Insert a black box, or a mask, and under event pan and crop you have to go in frame by frame and keep moving the block in sync with the car, its painstaking but its pretty much the only way. Hope it helps any more probelms message me
