When i try to do a hihat foot double, i can't seem to avoid an open hihat sound from the first hit (i think it's because i use a slide technique?). Any advice on how to prevent that from happening? Your hihat foot doubles are exactly what i'm trying to do...
@WimLikesMusic the hit hat thing comes from the stuff I learned when writing my left foot independence book. The slide thing doesn't work for me and I don't see where you get a ton of control. My whole thing has always been..Play what you mean and mean what you play. To answer your question....it's like anything else..slow repetitive practice.
