  • Good choice, I have two. I kept one stock and "modernized" the other one tastfully and didnt invite Bubba to my party LOL

  • @xoticgunnut Bubba's a good guy, why not? lol

  • You need better lighting.

  • @FixWithFirepower yeah, and better contrast too...I'll be doing another video of this gun and its cousin RPD in a few weeks.

  • @TacticalGunGuy ok when they make the weapon the install the bipod on the barrels they still do and when they ship it over here they try and duplicate the rpk so that's y there us a bipod because on full auto the gun is literally uncontrollable hence three installment of the bipod

  • @Mi24pwn yes, the RPK I have has a bipod because RPKs have bipods, I get it. But if AKs were "literally uncontrollable" (your words) in full auto without a bipod, then why do millions of them in the world NOT have them? Keep in mind that the AK carbine is substantially lighter than the RPK too. For a squad automatic or suppressive fire weapon, I totally agree that a bipod is a great thing to have and makes shooting auto more accurate, but it's not a mandatory feature

  • Don't mean to be a smartass but the bipod is installed when the weapon is manufactured to help with dissipation of recoil and also to help keep control of the recoil when the weapon is in full auto mode seeing as it was designed for that to my belief I study russian weaponry

  • @Mi24pwn bipods can't be assembled onto guns at the time they are imported into the US. The RPK normally has a bipod on it, I know, not just when they are manufactured for US import.

  • Additional question. Did your AES-10B not come with windage adjustable rear sight? All the ones I've seen have had them, so I can't think of a reason why you would replace the sight unless it either didn't come with it, or you just wanted a Soviet sight in there instead of the Romanian one.

  • @wysoft Mine didn't come with a windage adjustable sight for some reason, some I've seen do, but the later imports seemed to have chintzed out on the rear sight.

  • Great review. I appreciate that you actually know what you're talking about, rather than the usual rambling firearm reviews found on Youtube.

  • Thanks for the info. I see Century has them listed on their web site again with the club foot stock. The ones they had earlier this year had side folding stocks for some reason. I'll order one soon from my local gun shop, I think they've gone up to $600 to 700 now. I still want one anyway

  • I'm thinking of getting an AES-10B myself but am a little worried about Century's so-so reputation. To be clear the AES-10B is MADE in Romania with matching parts like reciever, trunnion, bolt, barrel etc. correct? Century just puts in the trigger group and other US compliance parts?? I don't want a parts gun on a crap US reciever put together by Century with crooked sights. Thanks for any info u have.

  • @ShowMeMy0pponent yes, Cugir / romarm assembles teh rifles complete an they are shipped here. I think some non-sporter parts are added aside from the trigger when they get here (muzzle nut), but it's about as close to a Mil Spec RPK you can get without being in the Russian military (minus the full auto of course).

  • @TacticalGunGuy

rpks DO NOT have ribbed dust covers. (russian spec) . stick to thicker gauge smooth cover if you want the russian look

  • @PetePhamous good pt - I've been keeping an eye out for a thick Polish plain cover for a while for the beastie. The ribbed ones are really chintzy feeling - good and light for a carbine AKM, but for the RPK, go big or go home, I agree :)

  • @TacticalGunGuy

also remove the carrying handle if you can, russian ones dont have it :)

  • @PetePhamous it's funny you say that too - the carry handle mount is an obvious weld on on the 10Bs too - definitely after they come in to the States - the way it attaches to the trunnion is very out of place - good welding, just an obvious add on.

  • I bought a Romanian RPK and I'm very glad i did. I already have 2 AKs but what you need to know about this weapon is that it is an exact copy (it HAS to be the AES 10B) of the Russian RPK. Absolutely NO complaints about build quality. You'd now be crazy to NOT buy one. They're disappearing. These are real Romanian military machine guns - only with new semi-auto receivers, but all matching #'s. Very accurate and a true collector. No jams, cylces rounds perfectly

  • @deveans11 I'm really happy with mine, and yes, the AES10B is the one to have - nothing closer to a mil spec RPK available in today's market unless you are in the Romanian Military.

  • @aaronscrewme did you watch the video at all? That was kind of the point of it. It's well built, love the heavy chrome lined barrel, and it's very accurate.

  • @TacticalGunGuy Dude I've been flipping out, searching, researching this for hours. I realized after I posted the comment that this was the wrong video, and you were talking about the same damn gun. Come on, laugh with me 'cuz it's funny as hell. I'm buying an ak, but between this (RPK), the Mak 90, and the Hungarian AMD 65 which is dog ugly (maybe I should swap this choice for the 85?) I DON'T KNOW SHIT! I just keep laughing every time you annotate that guile suit! LMFAO!

    Subscribed for life!

  • @aaronscrewme if it's your first AK, I'd recommend NOT getting the AES-10B (RPK) or the AMD-65. The RPK is big and unwieldy, and the AMD-65 barrel is too short for good muzzle velocity. Get a 16 inch barrel Arsenal SGL or, if you can find it, a FEG SA85M for your first one....you'll thank me later!

  • @TacticalGunGuy I FREAKING THANK YOU NOW! This is what I needed, years of expertise in one comment. For some reason your straight face humor kills me.

  • @aaronscrewme no problem. You're an excitable guy - I like that!

  • Very Nice, I need an RPK to round out my collection of klash rifles.

  • Sweet my friend. Thanks for the video.

  • Vepr makes a normal looking AK with the rpk reciever and barrel but there over a 1000 bucks

  • @lpdavisakgto VEPRs are nice - like Tex Grebs would say - "high speed low drag" (but a bit heavy perhaps!)

  • Very nice

  • @lpdavisakgto Thanks!

  • Very nice rifle. I've always passed on RPK's but you have me thinking twice with such a mil-spec factory produced version.

  • @DAHC78 I was on the fence too, as so many so called "RPKs" are chintzy long barreled AKs, but this one is the real deal. I'm really liking it.

  • I could use one of these!

  • @TheHossUSMC you NEED one Hoss.
