  • I like Ultraman better than Spectraman, but I like Spectraman intro song better than Ultraman intro song. Did not care fore Ultraman intro song to much. I use to get up at 6am on Saturday morning to watch Ultraman.

  • Wow this takes me back to the 70's.... i wanted to be this Ultra Man .. and i still do... who else ahas a funky pychodelic intro like this....

  • i hated this copycat shyt -

  • Man! I remember back in the 70s when i was a kid my buddies and I while living in New Jersey would watch this on channel 17. The station was based in Phillie but by turning to the VHF dial we where able to get it. Had to fiddle around with the antennas but we managed to get it. Fun days man! Fun old days. :-)

  • @godsgiftowomen44 For us, it was Ch. 44 in Chicago. Mon-Fri 3-3:30pm

  • The "Ultra Man" letters seem to be in "Wheaties" font!

  • I honestly didn't know this even aired in the US. I'm totally surprised. I didn't think anything to do with Ultraman was released outside Japan. (No games, nothing.) What about Europe?

  • @SashuRui yes it was,in the 1970's I watched it all the time

  • I was a HUGE fan of Ultraman when I grew up in Philly... now I have the 2 Box Set DVDs containing all 37 episodes...

  • What a great memories here in Puert Rico, in the 60s. Thanks You Tube.

  • The anime "Gintama" (Ep. 93) has a Intro Parody of this. haha

  • Man O Man this was the absolute shot, way way before those corny A-- Power Rangers. Bigg Up's to Ultra Man. WE MISS YOU!

  • @thesupremeultimate

I liked the VR Troopers, or at least the Beetle Borgs better.

  • Ahhh, Saturday morning memories....

  • English version sucks

  • UHF channel 52 in L.A. California back in the day. Great show when I was a kid.

  • i especially loved the first 15 seconds, used to be on 4pm weekdays on WUAB-TV 43 Cleveland

  • Wait, this is the closing, not the opening!

  • This is way better than Ultraman Tiga dub

  • Some creatures in this and other related shows in the Ultra series influenced the creation of some Pokemon, because Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri used to enjoy watching this and Godzilla when he was young.

  • I can remember running home from school just to catch this show. Great stuff. A buddy gave me a dvd set of all these shows. I sat and watched em in one sitting and was amazed at how cheap it all looked. Still a great walk down memory lane.

  • ultraman could take godzilla no problem i always used to want to see a fight with those two but it never happend sadly but i know ultraman would have won

  • @Amonthered I have the DVD set of this show, and there is a monster that is Godzilla, made up to look diffrent, but you can tell it is really Godzilla,I will look through the DVD and let you know what episode it is

  • @delideliver ok that would be cool i would like to see the episode if you can find which episode it was

  • too watch...when he took off...yo, im 43, i love this show when i was young...the intro tells you whats up

  • The beginning of this intro with the liquid turning into a title card always creeped me out a bit. It's a very good effect though.

  • @Jellybones69 Me too Jelly!!!It still has that same effect on me!lol!

  • I was mental for this show when i was a kid. i watched it every day from like the time i was five till it disappeared when i was around eight.

  • was my hero ,when i was a kid,am 47

  • Muy buena serie siempre me la basilaba. Very goob

  • I believe this is the first time I saw this opening since 1975. I was a big Ultra Man fan at the time. Didn't know the last time I watch it I wouldn't see anything of it until nearly 40 yrs. later. If you can sit and think of it,you can find it on YouTube. Always great to revisit your childhood.

  • Isnt he a Space man from the planet M78 in the 4th galaxy

  • Here he comes from the sky

  • great comments about flashing back to shavetail days.

i was a gradeschool latchkey kid in the 70's when this was on.

when i wasnt outside being a delinquent i was inside watching stuff like this,

and also hogan's hero's, partidge family, carol burnett,

match game, banana splits shazam star blazers star trek etc.

    Ah, yoot.

  • i used to run home from school to watch this shit !!! love it!!

  • Is Ultraman really considered a cartoon

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 No, there was a co-production cartoon based on Ultraman called Ultraman: The Adventure Begins which features Ultraman USA but generally Ultraman is a Tokusatsu series (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai/Power Rangers, Lion Maru, ect.)

  • The beginning of this used to scare the bejesus outta me when I a kid

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 The beginning was awesome!!!

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 Me too! Kept right on watching it, though...

  • After foolishly and unfortunately watching other "Ultraman Opening Themes" I come across this one and am happy to hear the original and even found myself mouthing the words as my memory came back to me.Thank you.

  • I haven't seen those monster silhouettes since... since... since I don't know when, on television. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

  • Where can I see full episodes of THIS version online??? I saw a few of the later versions, but I want to see THIS version. {Season? Version? Company?}

  • Man...I grew up with this stuff and really enjoyed it!!!

  • I fucking adore Ultraman.

  • This is why i like Japan!!!!

  • アメリカ版になると、歌にスタッカートがつくとはね。

  • Olde School Niggas

  • This was my favorite show when I was like 8 years old

  • Ahhhh, those were the days.

I'd get up on Saturday morning grab my Mom's largest mixing bowl, fill it early to the brim with milk & Sugar Pops and park my butt in front of the T.V. at 6AM (when Ultra-man came on) until 12:noon, when the cartoons went off, then I burst out of my front door on a Sugar-Pop jet-propelled energy surge to conquer Saturday afternoon. (and get into some trouble...usually)

    Hahahaha...good days.

    -Cheers to you all!

  • now this was the epic shit i remember from those days.......

  • Im a bit too young for this, but that is the most awesome titlescreen EVER! Screw CGI, lets go back to buckets of oil and water and a mixer

  • I wish they would redo and release some of the others in American. This was one of my favorite shows. I really want to see all the others.

  • que nostalgia me da cuando recuerdo esos momentos de mi niñez en los que veia esa serie..!

  • Holy Crap... what a flood of memories. Deep in my neurons the memory of this intro and the Ultra Man silhouette after the oozing title brew -- is still there -- its just now fused with my adult brain that recognizes how cheesy this is -BUT- the cheese is blending with the coolness that my primitive brain stem has locked in place and its whipping up a very strange sensation. In a very, very wierd way its giving me a unique flashback to how I felt as a kid and that is just freaky

  • @electrohermit I have the same feeling and enjoy it!!! I loved watching the shows and it brings back so many memories.

  • @electrohermit you watch too much of it!

  • @electrohermit Ditto

  • Used to watch this back to back with Johnny Socco (sp?) and His Flying Robot.

  • (Whenever he fights a monster, the narrator states) "The warning light begins to blink. Should it stop completely it will mean that Ultraman will never rise again."

  • @vinylrecord68

It's a little known fact that Chuck Norris learned his Round-House-Kick" from Ultra-Man.

    Just FYI to all.

    ( >-^ )

  • @Prometheus1st Not Ultraman Leo?

  • Ultraman always has been and always will be one of the coolest shows.

  • 0:00 lol tits :)

  • UltraMan Rules!!! Power Rangers are Gay ;-)

  • I miss this show = I do now intruduce it to my lil ones .

  • By using the Beta-Capsule... Hayata becomes... ULTRAMAN!!!

  • @Dajman65 im chockin on a sunflower seed man(lol)

  • A favorite show. Thanks!

  • this was the stuff!! none of this i have to" take em to prison cause it's right" Dude was slice their asses to peices and leave Good ole Japanese violence for young violence prone americans! love it!

  • This show brought comfort to me everyday after school. I knew I was home when Ultraman was on.

  • MAN I LOVED THIS SHOW;)

  • I used to run home from school, like a lunatic, in order to watch this bullshit.

  • Washington DC channel 20, I never missed an episode!!! Great memories!!!

  • Now that's a us version

  • i like the lyrics to the japanese version of the theme song much better.

  • And the Science Patrol where decades ahead of their time because they were environmentally focused and conservation-centered, even if Ultraman's wrestling shook the earth a bit.

  • He's still a hero today, God love 'im.

  • my local target has the first 20 episide of this on dvd for 5 dollars plus tax

  • Just hearing this theme song triggers some chemical in my brain. Good times. We had a huge 19 inch color tv on a wood grain and brass-look tv stand with wheels...my 2 brothers and I would lie on the floor on our stomachs with our feet up in the air watching Ultra Man and The Space Giants every day after school. The activity afterward usually involved my brothers making me fix them pot pies or boil n bags while they wrestled on the floor till our parents got home from work. Good times...

  • Would anybody be interested in buying my complete Ultraman DVD Collection both volumes 1 and 2 with all 39 original episodes?!..The DVD's are in excellent condition and they are in their original box and covers and it was viewed only once!..They are practically brand new!...Asking $30 or best offer including S+H!...Let me know if interested...Thanks!

  • My favorite superhero as a kid and still is.Ultraman forever!

  • I loved this show SO much as a kid! We used to play "Ultraman" at recess in grade school.

  • i had the trading cards as a kid in the philppines [most likely bootleg] =p

  • This show was so cool. My fave as a kid.

  • 3'oclock, channel 17, monday thru friday my ass was there in front of the big floor model tv gettin ultra!

  • Every comment I can relate to, I used to wait after school to watch Ultraman, I used pencils as beta capsules, all these things I remember fondly from my childhood. This show was it as far as I am concerned.

  • all i have to say is OMG OMG OMG this is just too funny for words now i know there are bigger geeks than me out there and i say that with all due respect

  • @davem1967m

Hey, I'm gonna' be 45 and all I have to say is that great line from Gilbert in Revenge Of The Nerds: "I'm a nerd, and I'm pretty proud of it!."

Of course I'm 6'1 and 240+ so I don't think anyone's gonna throw me in the fountain anytime soon like they did to Gilbert!

Embrace your nerdiness, gentlemen (and ladies) and rejoice in knowing that you hold the torch for theings the world has no use for, because if YOU like it, that's all that matters! Rock it, baby!

  • @tony709

Oh jeez, I used to use a pen for a Science Patrol communicator. I would click the pen and and go "Hayata here, captain."

Of course this was in the bathroom when noone was around. And I once took an old style flashbulb and used it for a Beta Capsule.

At 45 years old and counting, it's nice to see that I'm not alone in my double life as a Sciene Patrol agent! LOL Rock on homies!

  • i'm 52, and I used to do the same thing, lol. I wanted to join the Science Patrol and wear that cool 1960s fighter pilot helmet and orange suit, lol.

  • haha im 15 :) i used to watch the 1st series of ultra man in china :DDD ....it was the BEST, better than any other shows..... the show sparks my imagination

  • Very 60's sounding theme, but liked the silhuettes.

  • i used to watch this after school everyday!

  • everybody did homes, ultraman was the joint...

  • ULTRA MAN! Now with bleach!

  • FUNKY AS SHIT

  • Oh, the MELODY itself was too much for the Americans. In the Japanese song, there are so many wonderful phrases, simple yet somehow almost otherworldly, that are made completely bland here.

A rare case of melodic genius in Japanese popular music :)

  • I too was shocked@roytherude. I had no idea there were so many other Ultraman shows! But I canremember in the early 70's when the new "Light up" costumes came out, and I was Ultraman. There was a small hole with a bulb in it, and when you push the button on the battery inside it would light up! One of the coolest costumes I ever had. I also had the genie Shazzan, and it did the same! Damn our childhood was good!

  • I hate reality shows, Where have all the good writers and producers gone. This is quality stuff

  • I remember running around the playground with pencils pretending they were beta capsules!

Ultraman is the best ever. I was shocked to learn how many there were after some googling.

  • They don't make 'em like this anymore!

The crap kids watch these days creates ADD.

  • word

    ultraman is the shit!!

  • I used to come home from school to this.

  • Great! When that intro came on it was serious when i was a kid!

  • Oh yes--I remember being literally "worried" about missing Ultra man--and if he would save the world this week!! LOL!! I remember telling everyone to be quiet this was "serious" stuff!! LOL!! Thanks for the memory!

  • ultraman is hardcore....

  • By doing this you get all the Japanese versions but the US audio is shot as they used audio tracks from bootled video sources which are incomplete. I know, I compared it. The english drops out into japanese and back again at some points.

  • I don't know all of the ins and outs. All I do know is that I have 3 DVD's with Ultra Man (my favorite show when in grade school) and I have Giant Robot too. They look good, but have no info on or in the boxes themselves. I am just glad for the memories they bring.

    JBF

  • @junkboxfilms Why not buy the new dvd set? (Ultraman: The Complete series) that has at least some info on it. The whole series is on 4 dvd with some cool extras :)

  • @the60sKid Yea I have the complete series it happens to me also

  • Beware of the legit DVDs. They were not actually from Tsuburaya Productions. The prints are actually from Tsuburaya but they came from Chiyo Productions in Thailand who sub licensed it to the US company cuz Tsuburaya wanted too much money for it.

  • And kids got nerve 2 call what they c 2day cartoons. Ultraman along with Johnny Socko, priceless (up ur megazoid power rangers!)!!

  • one of a few programs i remember the name of loved it

  • This music is so perfectly 60s, it's not even funny

  • The music is perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my...!! This and Dark Shadows were the shows that made us rush home from school or come in from outside if somebody's mom called "ULTRA MAN'S ON!" Ultra Man Rules!

  • Wow, the memories of watching this as kid come rushing back!!

  • WOW you too.........it just triggered so many memories of shows.......Space Giants with Goldar......my 7 yr old is hooked on them now through YouTube LOL

  • yes where are the compete episodes? Why dont they remaster them on DVD?

  • I wonder if Ultra Man eats Wheaties?

  • I loved this show as a kid.

  • Yes, same here. This clip helps me to remember what my priorities were back in 1966 (also rushing home to watch Ultraman after school). Too bad the full episodes are no longer available.

  • They are on Veoh. Search Ultraman in Channels

  • I loved this when I was 5, or 6. Used to hurry home from school everyday to see it.

  • Does anybody know why "you tube" took down the ultraman series?!..I'm talking these original 1966 episodes...they were all posted on YT about 4 months ago and then suddenly they all dissappeared!..I sincerely hope they get reposted!

  • Probably because of copyright issues.

  • This version of the intro gives the credits. Originally, the English version didn't...only agknowleged TBS Productions and United Artists at the end....still Ultra Man still rocks!

  • Yaaaaaaa! Ultra Man Rocks!!!
