  • this car or the coupe? reply

  • For someone who maybe prefers manual to automatic, what would you rather have? a black 2004 automatic Infiniti g35 OR a 2005 red Altima se-r manual just like this one?

  • @numetal1992lb altima for sure haha

  • I love my SER. Nissan did a great job with it, very well executed. Sure wish they would make a new Altima SER.

  • Exhaust sounds really good too. There's one up for sale near where I live. Me and my wife are looking for a car to buy and I wouldn't mind daily driving this one. If only Mazdaspeed3's value would hurry and go down so we could afford one!

  • mid 5's ?? with the 6spd m/t right gas milage aint bad tho

  • I thought the altima ser only cam in six sp manual?

  • I own this car, I love it.......can't say anything bad about it

  • dude these altimas are really really nice, ive seen one done by my HS, and man it looks really nice, all stock but sport, lovely sound as it drove off! damn these altimas look really nice even the basic ones, wish most of them came in manual rather than automatic :/

  • This Altima SE-R is a fantastic car all around, I would love to replace my aging 95 Maxima with this car!

  • ima big fab for this car, the sound the looks everything they did a great job... the thing the maxima SE 02 vs this see the maxima will win.... thats why I'm tempted to buy one id get beaten by everything....... poop

  • I just wrecked my Smoke Gray 2006 Altima SE-R. Someone cut me off and I flipped her 5 times on I-66... thank you to whoever it was that helped me out of the car... I'm so ashamed that I ruined her though... I had her 3 years... I can't believe I did that. She's on my youtube in a few videos... mainly covered in snow and going through car washes. Damn I miss her.

  • @queens2nd2none Damn Im Sorry For you bro it seems like you love ur altima nearly as much as i do :/

I got an 06 SE with a few mods thats puts out 315 at the crank i love mine a little bit more

  • hey guys your opinion is greatly needed and appreciated. now, i'm finally ready to graduate from college and i have a baby on the way and need a more practical car. sadly i will have to trade in my baby, my honda s2000. it's between altima se-r and a mazdaspeed 6. please provide valid points for either. actual owners opinions are preffered. thank you very much.

  • i dislike how they discontinued this car. SMH!

  • it doesn't look sporty...

  • wat do they get? anyone on here got one i know wat he said but i wanted to see

  • I wish they still had the SER altima...well I guess my 07 SE will have to do. Ill just make what the SER on the 4th gen altima should be. All I have on her is a Custom borla, Nismo spoiler, Takeda SRI, RL Y-pipe, and a RL strut bar. Just need light weight rims, lower it with coil overs and black tails. hmmmmmm

  • well common too, the GTO is a 6.0 V8, just on numbers alone id hope it would wiPS GTO,s suck, thats why they arent

  • i love this car, and the six speed is sick! Its a sleeper people trust me!

  • well common too, the GTO is a 6.0 V8, just on numbers alone id hope it would win. PS, GTO's suck, thats why they arent in canada. Pontiac is basically shut down, and the quality is garbage. Done.

  • does this car need premium or regular, cause on fueleconomy.gov it says regular.

  • @cashivan The V-6's require premium, but as of 2010, V-6 Altimas now take regular.

  • @JSics21 This car is made in North America, god damn you are dumb.

  • Comment removed

  • @JSics21 lol, por old nagga thinks its a cadillac didn't make that car, moron.

  • god i'm still trying to find a used 06 SER, but i cant find it in advertisement. fml. lol

  • @v1per808 they only made it in 05

  • @p00nhandler420 no they made it in 05 and 06.

  • i can buy a used 2002 altima 3.5 se 5-speed & easily beat this car with less than 1000$ of mods & save 20K

  • @JSics21 fool you only say that 'cuz u wish u had one or have one

  • VQ35, the best V6 engine ever produced, reliable, powerful, smooth, you name it

  • I'd love to own one a second car, but the stuff you get in the SE-R for the extra 5 grand its valued at doesn't even seem worth it.

  • @JSics21 i have a corvette zr1 and can eat one of these

  • @yuyusuck well I would hope so, any Vette Vs. / Altima is a no brainer.. ever ran a GTR..ya' know they are legal here in the states now.. I saw one here in Nashville, might not want to screw with whoever owns it, that car's frickin' fast..

  • @yhvh910 lol yea i have ran a GTR fast as hell gotta admit it was me at a car meet my friend charley in his lambo murcielago and another friend name George in his GTR i ended up willing but the gtr almost got me P.S i was looking to buy one but couldn't find one in my area :(

  • @yuyusuck first of all, if you do have a zr1, Why aren't you driving it instead of watching family sedan youtube reviews? Also, i know that nissan is a much better car company than gm, but Why are you trying to compare a 6.2L supercharged zr1 to a N/A 3.5L four door sedan?

  • @sideeffectz1355 im watching this because i want to buy one but i want to get an sti or evo isntead as a daily driver

  • They still make the altima SE-R right?

  • @Weedednote94 If you want an Altima SE-R you need to buy a 2005 or 2006 model.

  • Did he just compare an SE-R to an Accord hybrid... I think the cheese slipped off the cracker.

  • You can't drive it in the snow though. No pussy Honda would ever keep up with this car. Hondas are so dam slow.

  • @mjpitche my honda will beat your car.. i have 110 hp and 170tq lol

  • this is nice but i think id rather have (at the time) an 06 Accord Sdn V6 6MT ;) they are both just as quick but the Honda has a nicer interior.

  • How is it better than the Sentra SE-R? I guess it is so good that they still make the Altima SE-R trim, right? Oh wait, they do not make an Altima SE-R anymore. Also, true SE-R's have two-doors. Not four. Class is over.

  • 0-60 in the mid 5's?? lol... not even the stick can do that, the auto is slower. more like 6.2 sec.

  • @marcomariaz26 depending on what car some autos now days are faster then manual i know if you run turbo on your car auto is beter to have then manual becuase u dont have to respool the turbo

  • @JSics21 I believe the new Ford GT would kill it =]

  • @JSics21 I love nisssans but I have an regal they last just as long 250,000 thosand miles later same as my dads maxima

  • north america Still has the more power

  • it may be a mid size but every time i see one of these with roof racks or babies in the back i shed a tear...so much wasted potential

  • @JSics21 whatever... the altima is an american car. Try to find one in Japan, nissan made it for the US market. First the plant was in Tennessee now they moved to Mississippi.

  • i almost got this car back in 05 but went for the v6 mazda6,, traded the mazda in for a mustang gt last year, LMAO,, 2011 mustang here i come!!!

  • @JSics21 ha yah right we got the changeller viper saleen s7 camaro mustang and the ssc altamite arow so i think u meen import crap

  • My SE-R is my second Altima!!!!

  • i dont like how tight the suspension is. you feel every bump. 07 accord with leather all the way.

  • I USED TO HAVE ONE OF THESE, WAS THE BEST DAMN CAR I EVER OWNED AND AM SORRY THAT ITS GONE, (BLACK 2006) 3.5 auto

  • @JSics21 You got that right.

  • @JSics21 Even though I'm a Nissan head myself, Pontiac was the best thing that GM had going for it. Between the GTO, the G8, and other past cars, they had a ton of history that shouldn't have simply been tossed to the wolves like that.

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH Also, the late 1990's Pontiac Montana, and Grand AM were great vehicles too. The G6 took over from the Grand AM, and it's been a good car, and the Solstice was a fun roadster. Bring Pontiac back, and re-ignite it!

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH I think Pontiac might eventually be revived in the future, but then again maybe not since all the models in the Pontiac lineup could easily be sold as Chevrolets

  • @GUMMYBEAYUH Well it obviously wasn't or else it would still be around. The models you mentioned are good, but the problem is nobody bought them. And for a long time Pontiac was just mostly rebadges. Their sales tanked. But yeah I wish they could've stayed around longer so we maybe could've seen another iteration of the Camaro, a G8 wagon or pickup, or a new Solstice

  • I love my SE-R, she is a sleeper, my favorite part

  • @JSics21 i agree i love altimas

  • @JSics21 g8's pretty good thou

  • @JSics21 bumper restrictions not emissions, they realized you can drive a right handed skyline here and not a gto because of some bumper restrictions and now they're alowed in canada too late for pontiac though

  • @JSics21 they are in canada now, great cars you need more research done

  • what a sick car, i own a 06 accord 6 speed great car and fun just not as fast as the SE-R, plus i like how this altima came with 18's

  • @JSics21 Haha, dude, you got both of the "Highest Rated Comments" section. Congrats.

    And yes, definitely better.

  • too bad they dont make it anymore.. =S

  • @JSics21 they didn't really build the gto to make it a great car they sorta just made it to bring the "the original muscle car".

  • Is this front wheel drive like the maxima?

  • @EddieVedder13 All Altima's are best to my knowledge.

  • Nice car. needs more HP though, a V6 Camry makes more and so does a TL.

  • this car is faster then both of those cars

  • yea...0-60 in the mid 5s? Had no idea this car was that quick...pretty impressive.

  • @Riujinzero

Ha, and who would expect it pulling up next to you? I want one!

  • @abram7117...lets not forget this Altima came out in 05 when the most powerful Camry available only had 225hp. The TL was making a claimed 270 (though it was revised to 258). So the Altima at the time was at the head of the pack. With a stick the SE-R outruns them both.

  • You're missing the point. The SE-R was a new model for 2005 based on a model that was new for 2002. The Camry V-6 was two years later. Compare the Camry V-6 of 2007-now to the Altima V-6 (270 hp/258 lb-ft) from 2007-now. Those compare nicely.

At the time the SE-R was new the Camry V-6 made 210 hp in the LE/XLE models and 225 hp in the SE model.

  • @JSics21 the dude you was arguing with is funny, lol! I'm just trying to figure out why the hell he's talking about the GTO on a Nissan clip.

  • Can any body tell me MPG for this car??

  • hell yeah, i got a silver one, bolt ons & tune, love it, i scare ligtly modded turbo cars (LOL) VQ35 power FTW.

  • I had a altima ser once...but then i fuckin woke up : l

  • True. I was a GM guy until I bought my SE-R 2 years ago. I had a bad experience, and bad customer service.

  • wow this is a sexi altima ser, i would ratha have this than a 350z

  • You're full of shit... the Vette and GTO share the same exact motor, so how can emissions be different? I bet you can't site a single issue with build quality. Its funny how rice culture is concerned primarily with looks, and not performance, and then will talk shit all day about a car once they get smoked by one. Do you have any more lame excuses dude? Enjoy "slaying" American cars with your "high quality" 4 door Type-R... and keep dreaming about that GT-R you'll never afford. LOL

  • @InfernusEternum the emissions can be very different. coming from the european side of the car world, there is a substantial difference between NA bmw's and gray market bmw's. yes, they often share the same motors, but things like extra cats and different ecu tunes can affect the emissions

  • @darren15509 I understand completely. You can't do a proper power mod without a tune.

  • What the fuck does Canada have to do with anything? Its also pretty common knowledge that GM shut down Pontiac. Don't know where you're getting the garbage part from... I've had three different DD Pontiacs that I put well over 100,000 miles on...

  • I know my GTO smoke's em pretty hard. :) Buslengths. The top end on them just isn't there.

  • True say

  • toyota and honda fucken watch outt, i will buy my grocery, go to a picnic, then use my se-r to smoke all you bs talkers on the track! NISSAN rules. and i love my se-r!

  • i Just raced an SER last week from a dead stop i got him by like 5 cars!!! Get a Mazdaspeed 6 its better loooking faster, and sexyer

  • how is a bose stereo sporty?

  • @hondahp18 everyone knows it adds 30 horse lol

  • if i could afford an altima se-r i would totally buy one :(

  • WTF are you smoking???? that's funny because I traded my SE-R for an infiniti- It crushed my car so much that there was no catching it in the corners

  • Comment removed

  • I went from an 06 ser to a g37- the g37 crushed it

  • Comment removed

  • Nissan and Infinity are the same. Stop bashing both products if your a fan of infinity. what the hell do you think a g37 is? Its an Altima.

  • extra 10hp it's nothing

  • CVT = Garbage

  • @TheReapersSon the altima SER is not CVT, they started putting the CVT transmissions in the 08 altima

  • nope they started putting CVT in the 2007 altima.i have one i should know

  • i have a 06 SE-R, and from my experience, this car does work. ive gone neck and neck with a6 quattros, and g37's

if they made this car in RWD, it would be a ridiculous.

    this is a superb vehicle

  • oh i c....u hate quality cars?...good for you inbrd

  • great car overall but yuhh gotta under stand ppl toyota is toyota no one can make a beter car watch when the supra comes back out witch i hope it dose

  • 5.5 0-60 is good....why can't the Maxima's even hit that?..

  • weight

  • 3200lbs

  • I Drive a Guzzling 4Runner!!!!! hahahah and a Guzzling Toyota Supra Turbo!

  • why does the american people need so big engines for their cars? I Think they drive to work and need them for shopping, okay, but why a V6 with 3.5 Liters. in Us a gallon = 3,7Liter costs maybe 1 Dollar = 90Cent in Euro. So in Germany a Liter costs 1.30 Euro, that are maybe 1.20 Dollar. So a Gallon in Europe cost 4,80 Euro = 5 Dollar. You pay 1$, we pay 5$ so its expensive to drive a V6, V8 or more in Europe we normlay drive a 1.2 or 1.4 or 1.6 to drive short/long distances!

  • I PERSONALLY OWN A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA SE-R! And for TOYOTA4LIFE

  • HONDA HYBRID!? PSSSHHHH!!! WHATEVER STUPID REVIEW VOICEMAN Yea OK.......

  • man this dude has no ideal what he is talking about. lol NISSAN Delivers.

  • 07-08 maxima only have 255 hp while the 04-06 has 265 hp..i don't know why they make it slower but the 09 has 290hp..beat that camry SE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The CVT of the 07-08 reducedes power; more power loss through it.

And the Camry SE is still as quick as a 290 hp Maxima. It's lighter.

  • nissan is my fav import!!!

  • yup nissan and toyota. honda is crap

  • How dare the freakin narrator say that the SE-R Altima power output is like a hybride honda accord! I freakin own one and it performs way better than it's compeditors!

  • No any more.

  • How dare the freakin narrator say that the SE-R Altima power output is like a hybride honda accord! I freakin own one and it performs way better than it's compeditors!

  • This is bad ass car! i like it .....sporty, fast, good traction, and family oriented.

  • ... and good MPG numbers! 20-30mpg for a 5 seconds 0-60mph mid-sized car, is actually REALLY good.

  • did he just say a honda accord hybrid is like the altima SE-R in power output? are you fuckign retarded narrator guy??

  • umm it really does match it in power....what are you getting so revved up about???

  • WHATS FASTER?? 04MAX 0R 08 MAX 0R SER?

  • probably gonna be the 08 maxima with like 270-280hp

  • OK MAN,

  • waaaaaaaaaaaw

  • Comment removed

  • your fuckin lying a passat is trash

  • why the fuck did you talk to me no body is talking to, you mother fuker son of a bitch, shut your mouth and get your fuckin acura in your moms ass, idiot

  • good car, really bad looks in a red color

  • @drummerblade i love the grey metallic not sure of the exact name of the color but love it in grey

  • haha, tuche good sir.

  • I've got this beauty and I LOVE how she handles. Gunsmoke grey & Devino 22s. @riley03rex - i do agree, i've got the tiptronic and the only thing would change is swappin a 6-speed.

Check out my beauty it's the 2nd video response to this one

  • why would you swap it.the auto launches better & you can burn one while you're driving without having to worry about shifting.

  • ser has 285hp and its sooooo much better in 6-speed

  • what's the 0-60 on the auto? is 5.7 seconds right?

  • Look at my page there is accelerated

    my car V6 3.5

  • your car is pretty quick, but its not an SE-R is it? I was just curious about the 0-60 time of the SE-R, because there is one being sold with the auto transmission, I just want to make sure it is still fast.

  • its just as fast

  • This is just from motor trend magazine but, they were the only one's to test an auto SE-R. It did... 0-60 in 6.2, 0-100 in 16.5, 1/4 Mile in 14.7 @ 95 mph. The best #'s I could find with the 6 speed where... 0-60 in 5.9, 0-100 in 14.7, 1/4 Mile in 14.5 @ 99.2 mph. Hope this helps... I'm sure a great driver could get even better numbers than this.

  • thanks man that sounds about right from Motor Trend. I am sure that the auto can even do it faster then 6.2 seconds. Like you said a better driver, and I am sure much better numbers.

  • looks like crap

  • I love the SE-R Altima but I hate the cars stance. It always seems like the front end is 3 inches higher than the rear. I so hate that.... this is also just my opinion.

  • I have a black '05 SE-R and I love this car, especialy the sound. You can not help yourself but floor it. I can not get enough of drivig this car, it is a great experience everyday. I hope it will become a clasic because I intend to keep mine as a second car, eventually.

  • my bro has this one in smoke gray and its sick

  • damn i LOVE this car, the new altima coupes are bad ass but this style altima with the ser package is just plain sex. i hate fwd vehicles but i'd make an exception for this car.

  • Is there much torque steer?

Damn, five and half seconds to sixty? I had no idea! Impressive!

  • hell yeah they have tq. steer but thats the ONLY thing thats bad about this car. they are very fast cars, if you hate fwd cars and you drive one of these you'll forget thats its a fwd car because you'll like it so much.

  • youve never driven an altima ser spec v when u do let me know

  • is this car awd? it's fwd, then all the power is just a waste.

  • It's FWD. With wide tires such as that, and proper front shocks, a FWD car with this kind of power is still very capable.

Without those engineering details, you're right, or if you're talking roughly 300 hp, like what was its primary competitor in its day, the Grand Prix GXP.

  • grand prix gxp?!?! lmfao! as much as i hate the altima (and i own a 2006 altima, i have reason to hate it especially for its driving dynamics) i'd much rather have this than a grand prix!!!!!!!

come to think of it, i'd rather be kicked in the balls than be given a grand prix gxp.

  • It's not a beast in corners, but it actually doesn't have that bad of torque steer. Less than any 02-06 Altima 3.5L, in fact.

I'd rather have the Nissan, I'm just saying.

  • torque steer is the least of a front wheel drive car's problems. i'm talking about understeer.

    i own a 2006 nissan altima 2.5 and it's terrible.

  • There are some sedans that don't have that much of it. The SE-R version and my Acura TL are two of them.

  • While I do really like these SE-Rs, I wouldn't have seen myself buying one. The TL at the time was quicker, had better transmissions, much better interior, and wasn't as harsh, and not much pricier.

I think the smart choice would have been to dial back to the more simple 3.5SE and save a decent amount of money. Nismo exhaust and intake would easily add your 10 lost hp, and the wheels wouldn't cost too much. Plus it would ride better.

  • Acura TL's cost about 6 grand more for the standart model . . . Not to mention they are heavier.

  • They started just under 30 grand, about 3500 less than the TL. The different was essentially nill with any options. Even then the TL was fully loaded with EVERYTHING except the nav system.

  • my god... pretty nice bit of steel :-D

  • could i buy it in Europe?

  • Don't think it's avail in Europe, I was just there for a month and haven't seen one.

Keep in mind the Altima is a large car in Euro standards, It's about the size of a BMW 7...
