  • When people didn't sound like singing robots......

  • Love this! Excellent movie!

  • Dennis Quaid did a good thing as preforming as the Rock Legend and Four Father of Rock&Roll of the 1950s. Cool movie.

  • I love it. Follow that killer!

  • what my video guys,Is a funny tribute for greats nalls of fire

  • Check out my video of my origanal song. It's a tribute to all the forefathers of Rock and roll including Jerry Lee Lewis. I hope you enjoy.

  • what a smart ass

  • 17 people have seen the HD version !

  • If I'm going to hell, I'm going playing the piano!

  • Follow THAT Killer!

  • "Okey, Cap. If thats the way you want it!" Like A Baws!

  • 15 people have their balls on fire.

  • 'Like' if your here because of Dancing With The Stars (:

  • HAHA!!! chuck berrys like WTF!! XD

  • WITHOUT A DOUBT, Dennis Quaid's best performance!!! He was a REVELATION as Jerry Lee Lewis!!!

  • Follow That Killer was not the real comment, It was Follow That ******! The 50's were big time redneck in the deep South and you can't say things like that anymore.

Comment can mean different things in different decades. Killer was never really classy for the in crowd, but for the run of the mill American... he was and is a hell of a guy

  • look it's the Jamican Chuck Berry!

  • great movie...long live the killer!!!

  • man im 22 and str8 up, back in the day they didn't need super mics and fantastic programs to sound great....all they had to do was perform. i mean it when i say.... i was born in the wrong era....time machine please?

  • dennis quaid was such a handsome jerry lee lewis

  • @IGotFree He really is, and in fact every portrayal I've seen of JLL has been done by extremely handsome men. What's interesting though is that JLL himself was not handsome like Elvis. What made him sexy was his swagger, his bad-assness and his talent. Maybe that's why he is always portrayed by hot men :-)

  • weird

  • Family Guy Haha

  • i love Dennis Quaid he is hot!!!!!!

  • fucking awesome love it x 300 !!!!!!!1

  • Follow that killer! lol

  • @BigOrangeTitan I am not sure of the accuracy but evidently "killer", according to an article I read a second ago, was not what was said. I will let you use your imagination of what a black man may have been called back then.

Also noteworthy is that the lighting of the piano did not happen, again according the article, at this event. He did it one time, people know for sure, however no one has the particular time or place.

  • Man,wouldnt you have loved to been there when he set that piano on fire....the first bad boy of rock and roll!!!!

  • bad quality, GRATE VID!

  • I love Dennis Quaid, he actually learned to play for this part, between this and Dragonheart, and Frequency Dennis will always be one of my favs!

  • OMG!! did u see the way he looked at myra in the crowd as he was singing and said "i love you"...imagine how she must of felt with all those other girls...i want to be her pmsl...follow that killer...Dennis Quad should of got an award for this part..as hes as close as u will get to the real Jerry lee Lewis so i have been told....oh and love the part when he wakes up with that girl who jumped in his car and the way he said "she cut off my god damm hair"....funny as f*ck :)

  • 2:25 - I WANT TO BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fire+Piano=definition of awesome

  • dennis quad and winnow rider totally nailed there parts..love this film!

  • @MIZZCHERRYLEE they should of got an award for it, as they were brilliant :)

  • follow that killer haha good one

  • Este Video es para Subirse a un Cohete de Bueno ;)

  • this is friggin awesome

  • Dennis did a great job of showing how Jerry Lee got people in a frenzy. I saw Jerry Lee in person and he was a wild man. Sooo good!!

  • I loved the video, good work.

Jerry Lee acually did set the piano on fire, and I believe that moment will go down in history as one of the most outragious moments in music history.

  • I love that scene, to me since the first time I saw it decades ago, it remains the best fuck you ever performed on the big screen. A great movie, wonderful acting and yet so sad. We have multiple movies about the big music stars of that era. What will we leave our children with.. Britney Spears doesn't exactly make for a thrilling movie (unless Rob Zombie would direct it in which case, sign me up).

  • jerry lee un genio!!!!

  • Is it me or does Wynona look like a stalker in the crowd? Creeepy. ;-)

  • "Follow that ,Killer" One of the best lines ever.

  • @maximussalfordus The real Jerry Lee Lewis said "Follow that, nigger".

  • jerry lee lewis said tha the hates this movie.

  • みんなで、足並みそろえた、あの頃を思い出せました。

    今、歳はとっても、気だけは、若さをとりもどせた、4分間、ありがとうございました。

  • i feel so stupid! i deleted the movie off my dvr! i am such an idiot!!!

  • Quaid did a great job playing Jerry Lee and used his own voice. I think it was harder to portray Jerry and his mega ego.

  • Looking at the old videos from Jerry Lee Lewis I believe Denis outdid Jerry in performance. Even his singing is way better... but that of course is a personal opinion :)

  • @dodofren that is jerry lee lewis singing not dennis

  • Comment removed

  • @dodofren Dennis quaid isn't really singing....

  • jerk

  • young pussy the best pussy...... stop hatin!!! lol

  • Jerry definitely made his mark in history with this insane stunt...but yea, 6 #1 hits back then...yea, you better believe Chuck headlines! Hahaha

The whole origin of the phrase "rock 'n roll" was invented after Chuck Berry was first played on the radio...and it was the first time anyone ever heard that style of music on the radio ever. There was no Elvis and no JLL.

They didn't have a term for 'sped up Blues' back then, so a dj called it 'rock 'n roll'...and it all started with Chuck.

  • Ike Turner, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, and Little Richard had careers before Chuck Berry. Most people claim Ike Turner had the first Rock record. I'm not sure about the origin of the term, although I do know Chuck Berry had a major impact on music.

  • @DH1986

Yes, Ike, Chuck, Little Richard and Bill Haley were doing their thing around the same time, but Elvis definitely came a little after those guys.

Alan Freed was the dj that first called the music rock'n roll so that he could get away with playing black artists on his radio show (don't think he invented the term, he just named it)

  • Elvis recorded in 1954 at Sun, Berry recorded in 1955. Elvis had auditioned for Sun as early as 1953.

  • Jerry Lee sure can sing and play the piano but...............I really do think he's mentally retarded.I'm serious! He married his 13 yr old cousin!

  • Oh i liked this movie.

Anyone know where i could get it??

  • follow that killa!

  • thought the piano burning was really directed to Lil Richard...not Chuck Berry. Maybe someone can correct me or this video.

  • @bro1945

Fully directed at Chuck...since Jerry's manager lost the arguement of who should be headlining the show that night,

Jerry wanted to make a spectacle so incredible (lighting a frickin piano on fire), that it would be too tough of an act for Chuck to follow.

Hendrix did the same thing to The Who years later.

  • @bro1945

It was Chuck. Not long ago I read the top 20 band fueds of all time and this was number 1. Also said that in Chucks autobiography he claims that Jerry said "follow that n****r" instead of killer.

  • Hehe, I'm not listening to this kind of music but, I really like this movie! :D

  • Dennis Quaid is so under rated! Fabulous job portraying Jerry Lee Lewis!!!

  • Pull this crap vid!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • dennis's voice is similar to jerry's

  • Junk in, junck out.

  • im a big jerry lee fan, only prob with this scene is that it makes chuck berry out to be a b*tch, chuck berry is in his own right a rock legend and could rock a crowd just as good as anyone in those days.

  • JERRY LEE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think the low quality of the video made it more enjoyable with the music... Look at the people, it looks like the audience on the muppet show. It's almost like stop-motion hahah

  • my favorite by jerry lee lewis I'm your biggest fan.

  • Dennis made this believable...

  • "Follow that killer" !!! Amazing Dennis Quaid

  • I've loved this movie since I was 8!

  • great dennis!!!!!

  • loved this part of the movie!!

  • LMFAO!!! Follow that killer!!! LOL totally owned.

  • Tsk, tsk, Jerry Lee. What 's your mama and I gonna do with you.

  • i love the part when he mouths "i love you" eeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • but hey nerdboy i enjoyed this loved the movie

  • @jessedowns

I realize that this isn't the highest quality resolution available. If you notice, however, I posted a link on the video itself that redirects you to a higher quality video. Maybe, instead of making yourself look like a complete idiot in front of 700+ people everyday (who happen to love the video by the way), you should check it out :)

  • then dont watch it

  • @jessedowns correction:

    *1,700 every day

  • @NerdBoy001 You should correct again:575 000 people

  • @jessedowns follow that killer

  • @jessedowns Shut up! This vidz awesome you hater

  • @NattyAndDee4EverFwdz just leave him, his youtube name isn't jessdowns for nothing.

  • one of my fav movies

  • when did this occur? It is recorded on video or anything?

  • @o0NicolaiP0o its from the movie great balls of fire thats up here somewhere

  • me too

  • Jerry Lee's life is so rich with incident and intrigue, you could make TEN great movies out of it.

Dennis Quaid does a passable imitation of Jerry Lee's exuberence, but the screenplay has nowhere near enough depth or subtlety to capture the essence of a man who is much more complex. The real Jerry Lee is a fascinating amalgam of opposing forces: a God-fearing sinner, a self-loathing braggart, a tragic maniac...a movie that successfully portrayed all of these elements would be extraordinary.

  • "Follow that killer" LMAO

  • "Clips from the re-make version of movie Great Balls of Fire! "

    Euh... re-make version ?

  • @Erulin68

I worded that wrongly...i meant to imply that the vocals were done by jerry lee, therefore he remade them for the movie.

  • Comment removed

  • Feel sorry for Chuck Berry:P

  • i hear you on that, but hey, i guess Chuck should have listened lol

  • @hatleman2 : Don't... check out "Chuck Berry Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll" the movie... in an interview Jerry Lee Lewis talked about getting his arse kicked badly by Chuck Berry in a fight after he told Chuck he was the king of Rock and Roll :)

  • now this is how you do an unforgetable consert

  • One of my Favorite movies!!!!

  • sweeet

  • that is so BAD ASS!

  • did that rely happen with whole piano fire?

  • Absolutely. Several times, it kinda became his trademark.

  • lol so good when he sets the piano a light

  • i know. best part.must been so great to see that live when it happened

  • Wow that was the most bad ass shit I ever saw

  • oh wow!...lovely...thanks......

  • lol thats kool.

when that actually happend he actually said "follow that, nigger"im not lying

  • For the time period that this happened, what you said sounds 100% more accurate than, "Follow that killer".

  • "Follow THAT, Killer!" and swaggers off.

Still cracks me up everytime I see it lol

  • Haha that is the badass line of them all! I wonder if I can borrow that if one of my exes and I have to tour together.

  • mamalona !!!!!!!!!!!1

  • good piano song

  • can somebody tell me if he really burned up his piano???

  • I believe he tossed lighter fluid on it and it flared up and went out. Sure it seemed longer than it was

  • lighter fluid dose flar up and go out fast but inside a piano is like nothing but wood and like a wool stuff that would catch fire really easy (i looked inside one today lols =p )

  • DPEND. some say he did and others incl him self have said he didn't(but not in a compleate serious manner) its cyber i don't belive anything before i see photo of it.)but kee p in mind that you shouldn't look away from the fact that he did

  • he did i think 2 times.

Jerry Lee was still freakin' amazing though.

  • i've been trying to find clips of the original...do you know where i could find any?

  • remember that this is NOT Dennis Quiad sinnig. All songs in this movie was done by Jerry Lee Lewis, it only looks like Dennis singing. sorry for my english.

    And he was only 17/18.

  • True, but he was 23.

  • one of the great original artists.he was one crazy SOB but he was cool as the other side of the pillow. he would fit right in with all the other great rockers of history and today more than you would think. you know the pill problem is a southern problem, a lot of pillheads in just my little kentucky town
