  • This dance has a lot of of abstract movements that make it unique. The dancers are very flexible and use that flexibility to create very interesting movements. I also noticed that they have a lot duets within the dance and every movement of their upper body goes with the beat of the music. <33

  • One song is AGF- Private birds and the other song near the end is AGF- YouStop <3

  • anyone know the song playing?

  • @scraspen Yes. AGF - Private Birds

  • There seems to be a neverending suply of fantastic israli coreographers. Anyone see Jasmin Vardimon's "Yesterday" erlier this year?

    It blew my mind!

  • very cool! i imagine that many with an american mentality may not appreciate!

  • as an American dancer, I'm dying to know what the "American mentality" is....?

  • Linear (in physical line as well as story line and choreographic progression), pretty, flashy, mainstream, organized, predictable, comfortable

...i'm an american dancer/choreographer as well...i love this work and often find that many of the funders, students, presenters and audience members that i am in contact with don't appreciate or desire to see this kind of work/movement

  • Linear (in form and content/storyline), literal, pretty, organized, flashy...

I am an American dancer/choreographer as well and I find that many of the students, funders, general public, etc., that I come in contact with aren't really interested in (or appreciative of) this kind of movement.

Nice work on your page by the way...

  • Thanks so much for the compliment.

I guess I've been living in the NYC downtown modern dance seen for awhile now, because this movement seems pretty literal, organized, and flashy to me :)

I just saw Batsheva preform, "Max" at BAM - they are all compelling movers, they were received with a standing ovation.

  • I don't agree. But I understand that not everyone holds the same aesthetic in dance. However I don't think that dance has to be graceful at all. Arrogance and isolation are also very beautiful ideas to present in dance. I see this as a piece filled with different ideas and I loved this clip. It's difficult to find choreography that stands out and shows a new approach on how to manipulate bodies so kudos :) It's a new age of dance so let's get with it!

  • ok heres what was on the program

"Bellus"- J.S. Bach, Goldberg Variations, performed by Glenn Gould

    "Humus"-Brian Eno, Neroli

"Secus" (this clip) - Chari Chari, Kid 606 + Rayon (mix: Stefan Ferry), AGF, Fennesz, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, Seefeel, and the Beach Boys

  • I saw this performed last night in Minneapolis, MN at the Northrop Auditorium, and it is the most amazing, beautiful thing I have seen in my entire life. Makes me hungry for more Batsheva!

  • i have the same problem as frukling. anybody who knows the song names please reply! especially for the first song. really cool show btw

  • utter waste of time and money

  • care to elaborate?
