As of March 10, 2010, President Obama signed the disaster declarations for the 2010 ice storms giving much needed recovering to those hardest hit by the storms. To everyone who supported the relief efforts by sending donations, food, clothing, water and supplies, Thank you!!!!
A lot of people dealt with and are still recovering from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning, my family included. The school in LaPlant is still closed due to the extensive pipe damage. (3:28) Florence kept optimistic the entire time, and thanks to the local baptist church and relief efforts of the LaPlant distribution center/shelter, no deaths were reported in this small community.
