shame I cant get this in the UK its not so much the postage of $109dollars its the UK import duty, that would kill me, maybe I could get just the motor, and do the rest here. would I need 2 x 12v 8.5Ah batteries? a nice and simple conversion at last!
Thats exactly what youtube needs...in the era of cheap 10.000.000 megapixel cameras and bicycles that go faster than cars.....people uploading videos...with cheap camera phones. Ooookay.
So this is now a 2 wheel drive bike! Similiar to a hybrid car using electric / CO emitting engine. Bike uses electric plus rider who is CO emitting engine... excellent.
Top speed is 15mph on flat without pedaling. Up steep hills the speed is lower without pedaling but it's easy to get back up to 15mph if you pedal at the same time (it makes you about 'three times as strong as usual').
Yes, absolutely. That's why we're going with front wheel kits. The compatibility is much wider. Most bikes that hold cargo are built on the big side and are very easy to add electric power to.
Aren't those Crystalyte kits for making bikes into motorcycles? I thought they go 50mph or something and have 45-pound batteries and take forever to install. I like the simple "1,2,3" "5-minute" "quick-install" type of designs. Racing motor bikes is cool though!
Consider it like a decision between buying a Honda Civic or a Suburban. If you want to turn your personal bike into a 60-lb motorcycle, then a 500-watt monster motor and a massive battery pack is the way to go. If you want to keep the usefulness and function of your bike just how it is but add 10 miles of electric power for getting up hills or through the wind, then a simple 15-lb kit is the way to go.
yep , they are coming out with some really good simple retro fits for existing cars. greening what we have is better than buying (manufacturing) new stuff. I like to test ride one of your kits .
cant you use it on smaller bikes? 20 inch?

Be nice if one could see the work being done
fannieroot1939 10 months ago
With this you can have three options. Front wheel drive, electric, or rear wheel drive, you pedal, or all wheel drive, electric and pedal power.

why not put the batteries in the back ? I don't like a front heavy bike. Is there no speed control ?

Does that work on multi-speed bikes and utility bikes (bikes that hold cargo)?

Are they available in a 16 inch wheel size?

Can you send a link to that 9lb battery? I'm not sure I found it on the site. Very nice site though.

A 200 watt motor will effectively double your strength as you peddle. That's quite a boost.

Pity they couldn't do the same for cars.

"They" can, and so can you. Google "Hi-Pa Drive Ford-F150" for starters.
