You almost completed the 3 Heart Challenge, if you can even call it a Challenge, but u made a mistake. You upgraded ur Hearts to take half the damage from the fairy outside of Ganons Castle, so you failed the 3 Heart Challenge, its supposed to be done without upgrades. Try again.

it's extremely hard to this challenge on the handheld zelda games, but on the home console zelda games it's easy.

Now that is a challenge, a lead boot battle? That is just suicide. The hookshot method to get to him is something I didn't know you could do though, I'll have to try that out sounds fun.

Is this the emulator, actual N64 version, or one of the ports to the Gamecube or Virtual Console?

Im doing the 3 heart challange ATM, im on the first temple, just got the Bow.

It's not that heard either, im just very carefull =)

@Stickzanimator ya i was gonna say... this isnt 3 hearts man its 6 cause that upgrade makes you take half dmg...

the whole point of doing it with 3 hearts is to make it as hard as possible for yourself......

@420Stig making it as hard as possible would also require you to have no empty bottles, no fairies, no shield unless required and no powers ups like nyru's love nor the green one along with the different arrows other then light.

@TPGzero Thats a little overboard dude.... Check my vids.. It's a single segment run with just 1 fairy, No extra magic and the Biggoron sword.

I hate to break it to you but NOBODY can single segment Zelda OOT under the conditions you mentioned without saving thousands of times during the game... so don't even lie to me about it please. You could spend a thousand hours practicing for that run and a random attack from bongo bongo or other monsters that do 3 hearts dmg or more would end your run.

You know, when he's charging the multi-attack that you have to spin-attack to reflect, you can nail him with a light arrow. Easier.

with or without enchanted hearts, im almost done with the game, with me doing the 3 heart challenge, (i thought volvagia was hard to get thru with 3 hearts, at this moment that im writing this, im, at the water temple and i would like to say that i understand the difficulty as well.

I love doing (and watching) all of the speedruns and stuff like this. But if you ask me it doesnt matter if your a total legend at Ocarina of Time or you totally suck, If you love it, your tops in my book.

this is wack. ive done the challege with "3 hearts" and though you do have 3 hearts you have the enhanced hearts with the white outline which is like having 6 hearts. i was able to pass this with regular 3 hearts and 100% items collected and triple zero on my file for not dying and continuing and im sure others have also.

if i ever have the time to play again, ill try and do it better. definitely without the enhanced hearts, possibly go with the broken goron sword or something, and the iron boots, and maybe even no bottle (or at least nothing in the bottle)

I have done the exact same thing. With no hearts upgrade and 100% items. although I dont think i had 100 gold skultulas if that changes anything. Ocarina of Time is the greatest game of all time. I was playing it today as a matter of fact.

would recommend trying to do this with the "Master Quest" version of OoT on the GC, which is the two disc set of OoT for the GC. not to hard to find on ebay and not expensive at all. same adventure but with a little twists in the dungeons etc.

nice. Especially since you did it on the N64. I hate the N64 controller so it's harder for me. I can tell you did it on N64 due to the red blood from ganondorf instead of green blood. :3
