Definately has the 2009 Raider lifter blues. Hope you have the lifters replaced by now so it doesn't tear up your engine. About the only failure so far on these.

I have a 2008 Raider. I'm the only "non-Harley" guy who rides in my group. 6 other dudes all on Street "geezer" Glides from 2007 to my friend Kelly who just bought a 2011. They all have been modified. With a twist of the throttle, I leave my pals sucking my exhaust fumes. They all look cool as shit with all that chrome and are a hell of a lot better suited on our long trips, but I'm definitely the HOD ROD of the bunch. I like both bikes! It makes me wanna ride to jollibee and eat some saipao or balut. Next I would ride to megamall and pick up a cute pinay for a day at Casino Filipino and then ride back to quezon city for a night of boom boom coz I'm a buang and pasaway white guy! Ambot sa imo! :-)

I have a Raider as well. You need to have the lifters fixed. Thats why you hear all that engin knocking. Have that done and you'll be a lot happier with the sound. Those Cobra pipes suck by the way. You should have kept the stock pipes and modified it with the Reaper tips from Raw Design. Mine sounds much better than any harley. Check it out.

pare don't compare Harley with Yamaha. Street Glide up to 09 models look great but not this model because of the fender and tail lights and exhaust. I love my '07 you can do a lot on it. Going back to Yamaha, i like the looks, galing nang porma and i know this bike is really quick, I had a test ride. Yamaha will never sound like Harley, but they do sound good only on their Piano products. Safe Ride Brothers!

What will have a better resale- 5 yr old Roadking =12000. new 20,000.

New Nomad 12000- 5yr old nomad= 6000. seems like a wash to me, but in all actuality the Nomad comes out the winner. Not to mention the Nomad will be maintenance free. I see 20 yr old imports being sold for more than original list prices. I don't get it. but it's the way it is. The Harley prestige isn't worth the price or the maintenance required.

Neither one is going to be a Rocket. One is a Touring Bike and the other is a Cruiser. You don't buy these bikes for straight line performance. They both have more than enough power or their intended purpose.
