I lost my 7 year-old female budgie a couple of years ago. It was sad, since she passed away because of a stressful molting but she was chirping softly on the night she died. She died sitting on the bottom of her cage with her head rested against the sloped plastic of the cage. Good ol' Sammy died in her sleep.
Amazing budgie, she was. Perfectly hand trained and often fell asleep on my shoulder.
Oh, Peter, I am so sorry that Chi is gone. He brought so much joy to me and my family through your videos! Please know that you are in our thoughts. Sending love.
I have no idea what Chi could have eaten as he had free reign here. He was sick but had got well. Sadly he died on Sunday night. My heart was broken when he didn't reply to my whistle in the morning. I uncovered his cage to find him lifeless on the bottom with his feet curled up; This little light had gone out. He had been playing with me the night before - even dancing on my finger and shoulder. He will be sadly missed by all who adored him
@PB61 Aww Peter I'm so sorry:'( Poor baby he looked like he was perking up so well. It's obvious he means a lot to you. At least it happened quickly enough so he hopefully didn't suffer or linger on in too much pain, but like you say it's still so heartbreaking. I'm going to miss him so much:( Thank you for sharing such beautiful memories of him with us- he was truly a star<3
@PB61 Oh no!!!! I loved him too! And looked forward to every video! I am so sorry. But it is a testament to you that you are a good person for loving such an innocent and gentle creature. Many people do not have that capacity. Clearly he loved you too, very much. I had a really special parakeet once too, for about 4 years and then one night he seemingly died for no reason, and had not been ill. My heart goes out to you. <3 :(
Vets can be expensive but I'm sure your feathered bundle of joy was worth every penny. The beginning of your vid broke my heart seeing him so ruffled and unwell:( Do you know what it was that he ate to make him so ill?
At first glance I thought "Aww my poor baby!" but after a nice session of preening and grooming he looks as good as new:D Give him a very big kiss from me- muah! <3
I'm so sorry to hear that. I loved him, and watching him always made me smile. I'm sure you did all you could and he loved you back.
