The money spent on these barbaric, ridiculous wars could be spent on feeding the poor, just as an example.

Gov't and big business have their priorities up their asses. So, the average person on the street is asked to cough up money for the hungry, we are made to feel guilty. We average people are trying to keep our own heads above water.

@Jekel6932 Well the bible is actually a book. You could only be referring to God. Second, it's not God or the bible that allows children to suffer; it's the horrible people in this world! Nobody could deny that some people do seriously evil acts. However, God gave us the free will to choose good or evil. What we do with it is up to us.

Totally agree!! My parents always taught me that charity starts at home. Millions are going hungry right here in the States and people are too busy sending money to feed people who are oceans away. Dont misunderstand me—there is nothing wrong with helping others—but I firmly believe that we should do everything we can to help those right here at home before we think about giving to third-world countries.

If we are talking in a religious sense, God says to help the widows and the orphans. I think we should all help whomever comes in our path. It's tough to do that these days, I know. I used to do more than I am able to right now. Instead of judging, just help when and whom you can. Anything each of us does is better than doing nothing at all. "not as hungry?" What an ignorant comment! Why not help that family down the road from you, instead of sending money to some "organization" that you don't even know is legit. You don't even know if "your money" is even doing any good! If you are so motivated, why not volunteer in your own community. That would probably do more good than any monetary contributrions.

THANK YOU FOR THIS. The Bible speaks this very plainly. "A man that does not provide for his own house first is worse than an infidel." Sorry for talking religious stuff but this is meant for the righteous church folk in our country.

The message you present here is huge. If we do not take care of our own, giving to others somewhere else doesn't make a lot of sense. Millions of our own children here are hungry and we act like we don't know. Why?

I use to work at feed the children and they do feed children in the united states and not only children but families that are in need of food for whatever reason.
