Yeah it's spelled & pronounced voodoo chile, but it means Voodoo Child! Obviously Jimi was black & that's how some of us(not all) pronounce child!

It is cataloged in many places as, "Voodoo Chile" so maybe that's why he pronounced it this way.
I remember him saying this on TV live and wondering what the fuck he was talking about.
