Yes, this is a song that i love very much, but i cant understand why! Exists a lot of songs, by Can and by others groups, that are complex, beautiful, greats.... But this song, and olso Don't Turn On the Light, Leave Me Alone, that had somethink special and i CAN't understand .. WHAT! Is terribal for me that i cant unedrstand, because i go CREASY FOR THESE SONGS! In every case... the video mounting is a bullshit :) Sorry but my foobar (disaster) animation is better :)
"Why can't we go away, just speeding out? You just don't want to stay where you aim. You can't depend and stay all night, You can't often stay all night. Better say no more, woh, woh, woh, woh, Let me free no more. Why can't we wait, stay where you haze, You feel the storm, stay where you haze. You're waiting then to start on out, We can't depend where we stay where you mind.

One of my all time favorite bands. One of the highlights of my trip to Germany in 1979 was staying with Irmin Schmidt in Cologne and seeing the Inner Space Studio as well as meeting with Holger Czukay.
just started getting into them...can anyone let me know some essential songs of their that i should listen to...and any other bands like them...thanks!!!!
The best albums are Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi and Future Days - Soon Over Babaluma is good too, post Damo Suzuki, though (their second and best singer).
Buy the Cannibalism compilation albums for some rare gems. Turtles Have Short Legs, Mother Sky, Shikaku Maru Ten, Connection. Fantastic band, still very cult. Not many people know about them.
Monster Movie, Soundtracks and Delay 68 are fantastic too, though Mooney is quite a scary singer lol. If you're feeling REALLY adventurous, check out the bootleg "Horrortrip in the Paperhouse", it's on the internet. Absolutely insane live performance. Probably their most extreme (though non-official) release I 've heard
NICK McCABE of THE VERVE...will PLAY a special set with DAMO SUZUKI of CAN on THURSDAY, the 2nd of APRIL in MANCHESTER!!!
Don't miss NICK McCABE at MARQUEE CLUB @ NIGHT & DAY CAFE with Damo Suzuki of legendary CAN featuring Mark Heaney on Drums and Jeff Wootton on Bass !!!
Dude. Can is so amazing. One of my favorite bands ever. I used to listen to them a lot, but then I stopped. I found this video awhile back, then got totally interested again and more interested now. Love them! 5/5
Cans best track... ever. Restrained drumming from Jaki, atmospheric keyboards from Irmin, Michaels choppy guitar and held together by Holger. Brilliant.
Amazing for its age! Just goes to show good music never dies or dates . . . and it's a pit we've all become so UK- and US-centric. Wonderful European sounds here!
along with "future days" and "spoon", this is among can`s most refined and lovely music. don`t forget this stuff was made in 72/73 - and it still sounds futuristic, not of this world. how did they do it, you may ask?
There's so many 60's 70's and that sound awesome, futuristic and whatever you want, Can is of course one of them but what about Faust, what about Gong and so many else!
agreed, I know (and appreciate) both faust and gong, but CAN RULE, pure and simple; nobody and I mean N-O-B-O-D-Y even approaches this group`s musicality and magical synchronicity: early allman brothers maybe - but then there`s an awfully arid and empty landscape behind them...
but hey, you`re talking to a fan of 35+ years tradition, so I guess it`ll be hard to convert me... ;-)
the dead were pretty pro at free form too, but their music definetly can't be compared to the allman brothers, who definetly can't be compared to can. faust and gong are sweet too, i'm glad y'all know about them as well. if you havn't heard them yet, silver apples and magma are two other bands along the same vein
