even though these are not really a large diaphragm, will i still get typical lard diaphragm results? i already have a pair of SDCs so i need something to get me a wider sound on overheads.

@LivingwithoutAir912 I liken these to LDC so they would work well for you. But wider sound has nothing to do with the size of the mic. Just the mic placement.

thanks for sharing. just bought a used hm-1, so far I'm liking it! Can I ask the name of the acoustic artist you recorded in this vid? Would love to hear more samples that you tracked him using that same set up of hm2d on vocals and hm1 on guitars. appreciate it!

@BrunoBaudewyns Thanks. Actually using a Canon 5D which has video capability. My wife's a professional photographer so that helps!

@recordingrevolution nice one, fyi she'd probably agree it's not good to frame your head inside the imac monitor. makes you look like a robot :) Excellent review though and nice clean image capture too. I have the HM-1 but am not an engineer, so this helps me understand it a lot better!

next review i'd like to see actual mic setup in the vdeo but other than that it sounded great i will definitely think about those mics when i'm buying mics for my drums.
