  • so by connecting the microkorg audio cable into the computers audio you can record korg sounds off of fruity loops?

  • good job!!

  • I always wanted know this about Microkorg. Can you create on analog sync to a PC with microkorg just switching the knobs and stuff.

  • Chimp.

  • I wish I could give this more than one thumbs down.

  • @HLGEternity retard

  • someone needs to get a slap in the face

  • make the cutoff longer gives it a smoother sound

  • Is FruityLoops easy to use?

  • no.... it takes years and years of practice jk it kinda is u need practice

  • From what I hear, Yes. But I tried it, and got insanely confused. That's most likely my limited music knowledge, so go ahead nad try it.

  • Yes.

  • Yes It Is =]

I use it for everything i make

  • hello i was wondering if you could help me i just got a new imac and plugged my microkorg in to use as a midi controller and now my audios messed up even on youtube videos everything crackles and distorts?????? any idea what ive done

  • how does the midi data actually turn to audio to hear? like when you record the midi, what do you have to do to hear the midi data?

  • There is an end device with the sounds, or synth sound in this case. The MIDI On/Off note files travel from the controller, through the midi cable, or usb cable, and then thoes On/Off notes trigger the selected synth in the Digital Audio Workstation. In this case, FL Studio as his DAW. MIDI it self has no sound.

LoL thats just the beginning. MIDI gets reallyyyyyyyyy intimidating!!!

  • how can i connect the microkorg with fruityloops?

  • a MIDI cable

  • Hey, im thinking about getting the Microkorg xl but does anyone know how i can use the sound on it on Reason 4. Some one reply please. Thanks!

  • You can't - Reason is a closed world (sounds come from plug-ins that ship with the program and you can't add any others) - there is a new application from them called Record that doesn't impress me in the least - but with it you could record audio and have Reason 4 playing in the background...

  • wow that is amaizing and the sound on your fruityloops is the same as the original da funk keep going on :)

  • cool but why dont you make your own music lol

  • man you can say that to daft punk lol

  • Wow ! Good !

Can you send me the flp please ?

  • Very Ipressive! I'm thinking of buying one of these.. Or the Roland SH-201. Aint got a clue which one to buy tho!

  • hey man, i got a same problem, i need it for playing live on a stage, any suggestions?

  • Unfortunatly no. But I'm going with the SH-201 as it has more (& better quality) Keys, You can record samples & process them as you can sounds. There's more lights on the Keyboard than the Korg. And it has more hands on controls.. Which is what I'm looking for.

I'm not too bothered by not having a Vocoder as I think it's a cheap effect compared to the future's 'New Sound'.

I'd save up for an extra week & buy the 201 m8. The miniKorg is on my list, but it's the small keys that's put it down!!

  • the microkorg sounds way better than the 201 man. who cares about the keys - no one ever hears how big the keys are.

  • I will be getting one, but I'm very happy with My 201 - Some of the sounds that you can pulsate out of it are solid m8! There's so much to edit in so many ways & the keys are top quality for the price.

I'm not too concerned with getting a Vocoder as it's a cheap & dated way of getting round real singing, & alot of the sounds on this Synth have been used to death commercialy. I'm not into Remixing, more Pioneering. Which the SH-201 does with ease & Fun!

  • If you're in to synthesizers, the SH-201

If you're in to fun the, microkorg (or perhaps the XL)

    :D

  • I've got a MicroKorg and I've hooked it up with a MIDI to USB cable on Logic Pro 8, and I can't get it to produce sound through. It'll work as a controller (for the software instruments) but none of the sounds I've made on the keyboard come through...

    Can anyone help me?

  • The midi connection wont transfer any sound, you need to plug an audio cable from the microkorg into your computer to record any sound coming out of it.

Otherwise it'll only work as a controller

  • How about time code.. let's say I wanna use a drum bit from F L and a super saw with arp from my korg. how the heck do I do it.. I got pretty close just matching the tempo on both/// but sometimes it got pretty punk.. any clues?! thanks bud..

and that patch you used rocked.. awesome. another question does that microkorg has pitch setting like transpose or only on the wheel? and what's best MK 1 or 2?

  • how do you do that? I want to get a microkorg for my macbook. what do I need?

  • amp and daw

  • @benjibunni , IM IN THE SAME BOAT AS MINIROLL32 BUT MINES BEEN ORDERED AND ON ITS WAY AND IM KINDA REGRETTING GETTING IT NOW FOR THE SIMPLE FACT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO RECORD THE SOUNDS IL BE MAKING FOR BASSLINES FROM THE MICROKORG ON MY LOGIC 8!!

IF I CONNECT AN AUDIO CABLE FROM THE SYNTH INTO MY MAC WILL I BEABLE TO RECORD THE BASSLINE AS I PLAY IT ON A TRACK IN MY LOGIC??

    FINGERS CROSSED!!!

THANKS, AND SOZ IF I SOUND THICK!

    POW..

  • @DJDARKSTEPZ yeah u can. dont regret its an amazing keyboard and its cheap

  • Dude that beat you made on fruity loops is EXACTLY the same! Spooky O_o

  • i decided to go with the alesis micron, i think its great

  • where u get it!!

  • lol this rox

love microkorg, gonna buy myself one after i have worked a bit

  • Nice how much was a microkorg?

  • $400

    Its worth it!!!

  • i got mine for $370 from guitar center

  • hey but can u connect your korg to your comptuer with a via usb cord? and play :D i want to buy one im just making sure everything is right when i buy it. ima synth virgin =[

  • naa, it's got a midi thing though

  • you can get them for 300 at sam ash around presidents day, when they give out 100 dollar off discounts.

  • hello !

i'd like to know what u are exactly doing on this vid

you launch the beat on fruity loops and you play directly through the MK to make the notes or u have plugged the MK into fruity loops and u play on it??

    thanks

  • whats that one sound called that plays in the percussion track at .13? it sounds like a reversed trumpet or something. just wondering, it sounds so cool and retro.

  • I'm afraid that I don't have fruityloops any more, but I think it was in an 'hits' or 'orchestral hits' folder or something like that, I didn't sample it...it came with the program.

    Hope that helps.

  • how do you stop having fruity loops? demo?

  • haha, formatted my pc, swapped to ableton

  • Hows that workin out for ya

  • yeah how is ableton. rather new to DAW

  • what about the second section of the song

    any ideas

  • dats cool. i really want one

  • i no some better setting for microkorg, sounds closer i reckon.

hop/ vintage, b side, patch 4, edit select 1 to amp, knob 3 to on, edit select 1 to voice, knob 4 to multi. but i struggle more tryin to get that background music on fruity loops, any chance of sending a link or somethin, anythin?

  • thats sick

    what settings did you use?

  • nice one dude haha

  • tab

  • Not acid!

  • daft. I used to have FLstudio XXL, but now i don't (cracks are fickle) i loved it

  • You should've record the synth and save it as a wav file then dub the video to make it sound alittle better. Cool video though.

  • just put some reverb on it and it will be the same

  • dope.

  • not really the same sound, but very well performed! great demo!

  • thats pretty tight!! daft punk is awesome!! it's good to see people listen t other things besides pop music!!!

  • I get a totally different sound when I use that setting !

  • then you're doing it wrong.

  • slettenbakje - did u use distortion because without it it sounds totally different

  • i'll try it out tommorow , I guess I used it , but I will check it anyway ! Thanks

  • kick ass

  • Heres a good question.. How many of you actually paid for FL studio O.o lol

  • Very few I'm guessing xD

  • I did asshat. free upgrades as they come out make it worth it. now.... don't ever pay for their sound sample library, pretty bad. some of their soft synths are cool though.

  • @noexpressi0n I own my copy.

  • can i have ur contact way..?

    like msn or what

becoz im going to buy a microkorg in this month..i have been using FL studio..

i wanna know the detail n stuff like that

for how to hook the microkorg with the comp

and how it works with FL..? thzzz!!!

  • incredibly excellent!

  • im so impressed

    2 thumbs up

10.5 gold stars for you summer!

  • awsome! sounds just like it.

  • To hook the korg up to the comp all you need is a aux cord and a 1/4 to 1/8 hook up,they cost like 3 bucks,or you can just hook the korg up to a guitar amp haha and use FL on your comp speakers lol

  • Perfect!

  • I am going to buy a microkorg too

and im using FL studio also

i wanna know is that only buying a microkorg and just direct hook to the computer then its ready to go? Any other things else I have to buy? say..cable..sth like what the above member mentioned "midilink usb to midi adaptor"??

    and hows about the recording?

  • Awesome! You should do the whole song!

  • i've got that monkey in the background... lol

    and a microkorg...

    nice work btw

  • yeah, i got that chimp + a micro aswell...

  • how can you hook up the korg to your computer??

and whats the best software to just record music and just mess around with?

    im just a beginner.

    thanks

  • I don't have a korg yet (getting it soon) but I think FL Studio is the best.

  • is fruity loops like a beat maker?

  • It's a sequencer, but it's a virtual synth as well. You can use it to make music on your PC, including beats.

  • thank you

  • my korg wont work with fruity for some reason :/ probaly something to do with having vista I guess ?

  • really did you ever find out the problem i was planning to set up my korg with my new laptop using vista do you think this will be a problem??

  • Well I think its just fruityloops to be honest, because i downloaded abelton live and that works with vista and the korg, just make sure your interface /midi works with windows vista and you should be all good man.

  • Yeah I found out too that on the microKORG, one of the presets sounds EXACTLY like the lead synth on Da Funk :|

Not a coincidence I guess XD

  • maybe cause Microkorg=MS2000, and DPunk had this MS2000 boy,

  • dood plz try "my darkest hour" by scary kids scaring kids for me that would be awesome dude

  • noob question, but how did you connect the microkorg to your pc?

  • midi-usb cable most likely

  • i put mine through just with my regular lead but with a 1/4" to 3.5mm adaptor i bought off ebay for £1:50 and just plugged it in the microphone

  • problem with that being, you can't use it w/ reason or FL studio or Ableton live or pretty much any piece of digital sequencing software.

  • you can because i do, im gonna get a midi to usb though just to get the full interface but just to record a quick sample 3.5mm works just fine in the mic line in on a pc

  • yeah i mean you can't use it through midi if you do that way.

  • what do you mean? I've got my microKorg hooked up to my PC through MIDI and it works a charm in fruityloops, even all the knobs work as a MIDI controller. I think you might be doing something wrong somewhere.

  • no, i was saying to that guy, that if you use it w/ a 1/4" jack, you can't use midi.

  • mmmm, I probably misunderstand what you're saying here, but midi out and line out work simultaneous too. However if you mean no MIDI through just connecting a 1/4" jack, then yeah, you are right. In that case, consider this message superfluous. ;) Regards.

  • i shall consider it "superfluous".

however, i didn't know one could do that simultaneously

    what software do you use?

  • im plannin on doing that i ordered a midilink usb to midi adaptor cant wait to hook up to fl studio

  • anyone know of a good site of even some sort of book if one exists for microkorgs and the settings for songs and shit?

  • ya what are the settings

  • Sweeeeet

  • wikid that was awesome!!

  • yo man what setiing are you using?
