@misfits765 As a matter of fact i was just at a great ass show last night. And i was at another great ass show about 3 weeks ago. I love going to shows, but the phoenix metro area is so fucking huge, and shows are all around it. it sucks when you have to skate 20 miles to get to a show. but fuck, its worth it
For everyone saying real hardcore is dead then you're the assholes that don't show up to all the gigs my band and friends throw out of our tiny ass garage. We cover this song and we have about 30 people fit into a garage the size of my shitty little room, then they jump off washing machines and destroy the place. Hell, last time we had a kid go through a wall and take it down. Real hardcore isn't dead, you just gotta follow the blaring urge to pit. It'll never die!
Yea i fuckin wish i lived during the era too its like all i live for today and im pretty much alone , everyone thinks punk is fuckin shit like blink182 or greeday fuckin pop shit it makes me sick
They said the same thing before hardcore; maybe we're about due for something great to come up in our youth/culture? We just have to stop waiting for shit to happen on its own...
I'm with you on this man, fuck this generation, All we got is spoilt little fucking emo/scene kids and the "hardcore scene" is full of try-hard tough guys and the popular kids, they seem to get worse every year.
@zakzero123 Every pissed off kid of every generation of counterculture has thought that. Nostalgia distorts things because you only remember the things that were interesting; like the two hour punk show out of an entire month of sheer boredom. Even worse, when you watch videos like this, you're only seeing other people's nostalgia; you don't even know about the month of boredom because you weren't there. Our generation has just as much shit as the previous, and for that matter, the next .
I live in a working class town in NJ (RIP Eddie Shots) and I seriously have to believe that 1/2 the people that were at these shows woulda just been the tools that drive up and around my block blasting that radio junk as they do nowadays..it was just something to do
@mohawk1020 Just start digging, unless your in some rural hick town you can find some pretty fuckin good local shows, i live in the bay area and i find local bands every week end with fans that go as intense as this, maybe even crazier...
I dig how so many people are into these older punk bands, the first to do what they did in many cases. The only thing that bothers me is the pity party that starts when people talk about how punk's dead or in a coma. Everyone bitches about how everyone is a poser or against you. We can't be born at the same time as everyone else, you've just gotta do what's to be done, DIY, take no shit from the losers who can't do anything for themselves and create your own scene. Who ever said it'd be easy?
punk is fucking dead, this video is proof, name one fucking band after 1984 that made an impact that had a united scene, that had intensity like ssd and bad brains and all the other greats? NONE! and dont fucking say the virus or a global threat or the causualties, they do not match was or come close to what was heard back then...thats why punk is fucking dead.
Small mind, small brain and no fucking heart, I wish you lived in my town, you half-cocked, spoutin' off at the mouth pussy. Save your opinions for you and the rest of your rich kid friends. We are still trying. And there's a lot of other bands from the midwest keeping shit going. Talking that shit, you're burning everything those great bands from our past worked to accomplish. Get a hobby loser.
nothing will match the 1980s, period! thats it, i dont give 3 fucks about punk bands of today, ssd and everyother boston band ruled the fucking day, bands now are total shit.
Problem is people are too lazy to go out and hand out flyers, post them up all over bulletin boards at stores, e.t.c.
I used to walk 2 hours to shows when I was a little younger, and if i still lived in the city i would walk to shows that happen there. But kids aren't even willing to walk to most shows if they live in the same city. Kinda weird to me.
haha yes. yes they do. I'm not even that old and I've seen a lot change in the past decade within hardcore/punk rock. I started going to shows around 01..
This video was taken at Buff Hall in Camden NJ.You cannot imagine what a hellish neighborhood this was in. I dont know what its like now but in 1981 or 1982(i dont remember the exact date) it was a mess. All of our cars got broken into. The motorcycle gang that ran the hall basically had to be "protection" from the neighborhood. Before the show Ian Mackaye and the SSD tour van were struck by a hit and run driver. Its a miracle Ian wasnt killed. What a nite of mayhem!
PUNKS NOT DEAD AS LONG AS I AM FUCKING ALIVE!, went to a show the other day, fuckin DIY all the way, fuck people who currenlty have nonthing todo with the scene say that we don't exist, Forming a band in como MO atm, This place is a shit hole, but we're growing,

@.@ guys guys punks not dead i went to a show in hollywood like 2-3 weex ago. i go to school with one of the bands that played they go to Hollywood high too
THIS is the one for me. Having listened to thousands of punk/hardcore tracks over the last 30 years I have concluded that this track is the ultimate.
A high intensity blast of absolute naked rage. Brilliant lyrics and a sonic tsunami that destroys all in its path.
It's truly painful to think how this band ended up - but this track and the record it was released on, for me, is the most precious piece of music I own. I will still play this when I'm old, shrivelled, fucked up and photocopied !!
Im 25 been listening to hardcore and punk since I was 13 and have listened to many newer bands and many bands from the 90's.....................and nothing comes close to the sheer non-contrived naked rage of the early crop of hardcore and punk bands to me those are the only bands that matter and are worth collecting.......................those are classics..............
settle down just because you dissagree with something or don't understand does not mean you search for videos about it just to rip on it. Your probobly a prick in real life, I bet your gonna come back to this same video to see what people said about you.
well david8883 your in the minority of what kids your age consider "hardcore" give yourself a pat on the back, and then go and kick the shit out of your peers.
lol! i didnt mean all 15 year olds literally, just most of the kids that think that hardcore sprung up in 2004 or the ones that think earth crisis is "old skool"
I was reffering to the shit considered today as hardcore. Its gay, all bands sound the same, and its metal. Last time i checked hardcore came from punk, you know? I wasnt talkin bout the crusty stuff, its alright im just not down with all that peace, P.C. bullshit. I might have a different defintion to crust so i guess it depends...
Further proof that American Hardcore was more real than any of the Punk that came out of England. I admired many of the British bands back then, but you could usually feel that they were putting on an act. American Hardcore bands, even average ones, were loud, fast, and for real....period!
A lot of them are doing reunions now : Crumbsuckers, 7 seconds for example. Hardcore is in your heart! I "grew" up, have a job but still enjoying hardcore music. I'm glad it is a way of my life! And I will never get tired of it. We made a point as youngsters and still do I hope!
i don't even like '77 punk anymore.....my youtube name is a few years outdated....but i'm more into crust punk now....but of course i get shit for that too
cuz crusties are seen as the "hippies of punk". and thanks to the casualties's songs "kill the hippes" and "politicians", these guys basically wanna beat me up at every show.
yeah thats a natural progession, I mean, leave one scene for another. That's the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard. I'm too good for that now..are you fucking 14...ebay all your bondage pants since you're a fucking bum crust punk. You'll save money on water since crusty's don't take a bath You kids and your labels. Fuck the punk scene
I've never owned a pair of bondage pants. And I'm 20 actually, not 14. I never said I was "too good" for '77 punk, I just don't like it all that much anymore. And just because I listen to crust doesn't mean I'm a crusty. Sure, I wear the band shirts, but don't you wear shirts of bands you like?
Dude I listen to The Casualties even though I'm pretty sure you hate them BUT I also love 77 and crust/d beat/grind etc etc. I don't even wanna categorize music anymore cuz I am not even sure where nausea caustic christ and others fall in but whatever, fuck the "punks" who give you shit for liking crust! You rock!
Maybe if you READ what i wrote you'd find that what I said was categorizing music is for little fashion scenester fags who are the reason us older guys get fed up with the "scene". I agree with what you said, I listen to everything from Slapshot to the Smiths, from Cock Sparrer to Coalesce, yeah there's not much musical comparison, but I don;'t base my fucking wardrobe on it, and I don't throw up gang signs based on what I listen to.
oh god we have dumb faggots who listen to blackfisted who think they know about punk rock....................bahaha blackfisted is the shittiest band ever
haha ya, and who the fuck are you? punk rock, this is good right here but guess wut punk is dead. i dont see ANY punks around where i live, nor are there punk shows around. you call me an idiot for listenin to blacklisted? your the idiot for still thinking that punk is around

Listning to SSD makes me wanna punch one of those 15 yr olds that listen to that metal stuff and consider it hardcore! FAGGOTS!

i'm fifteen and i don't listen to that bullshit
i listen to this
david8883 4 years ago 2
lol! i didnt mean all 15 year olds literally, just most of the kids that think that hardcore sprung up in 2004 or the ones that think earth crisis is "old skool"
LCKmurder 4 years ago
Crybaby. i listen to both.
Mudgho 4 years ago
earth crisis is only straightedge because you can't suck dick and do coke at the same time
SATAN215 3 years ago
what metal stuff do you are you refering to? the "nü-hardcore"/metalcore shit...or crust punk? cuz crust punk kicks major ass
acnerabble90 4 years ago
I was reffering to the shit considered today as hardcore. Its gay, all bands sound the same, and its metal. Last time i checked hardcore came from punk, you know? I wasnt talkin bout the crusty stuff, its alright im just not down with all that peace, P.C. bullshit. I might have a different defintion to crust so i guess it depends...
LCKmurder 4 years ago
i listen to both those genres

Further proof that American Hardcore was more real than any of the Punk that came out of England. I admired many of the British bands back then, but you could usually feel that they were putting on an act. American Hardcore bands, even average ones, were loud, fast, and for real....period!

well put
david8883 4 years ago
a lot of the american bands broke up after 2 or 3 years, "grew up", and got jobs
acnerabble90 4 years ago
A lot of them are doing reunions now : Crumbsuckers, 7 seconds for example. Hardcore is in your heart! I "grew" up, have a job but still enjoying hardcore music. I'm glad it is a way of my life! And I will never get tired of it. We made a point as youngsters and still do I hope!

i don't even like '77 punk anymore.....my youtube name is a few years outdated....but i'm more into crust punk now....but of course i get shit for that too
acnerabble90 4 years ago
dude crust punk is fucking awesome, why would anyone give you shit about that?
monsterpunk999 4 years ago
cuz crusties are seen as the "hippies of punk". and thanks to the casualties's songs "kill the hippes" and "politicians", these guys basically wanna beat me up at every show.
acnerabble90 4 years ago
yeah thats a natural progession, I mean, leave one scene for another. That's the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard. I'm too good for that now..are you fucking 14...ebay all your bondage pants since you're a fucking bum crust punk. You'll save money on water since crusty's don't take a bath You kids and your labels. Fuck the punk scene
pfp217 4 years ago

You rock!
Oipunxunite 4 years ago
shut up.
christimebomb 4 years ago
Maybe if you READ what i wrote you'd find that what I said was categorizing music is for little fashion scenester fags who are the reason us older guys get fed up with the "scene". I agree with what you said, I listen to everything from Slapshot to the Smiths, from Cock Sparrer to Coalesce, yeah there's not much musical comparison, but I don;'t base my fucking wardrobe on it, and I don't throw up gang signs based on what I listen to.
