  • There are still shows like this, people are going to the wrong places. Go to basement shows not vans warped tour.

  • So, people, what do you preffer? Everyone dancing together or 4 'tough' guys doing windmills, picking change, etc on the middle of the dance floor?

  • its not dead.... you just have to know where to find it.

  • @misfits765 exactly.

  • @noobishdumbberry yeah! so all those fuckers who keep saying its dead are full of shit.

  • @misfits765 As a matter of fact i was just at a great ass show last night. And i was at another great ass show about 3 weeks ago. I love going to shows, but the phoenix metro area is so fucking huge, and shows are all around it. it sucks when you have to skate 20 miles to get to a show. but fuck, its worth it

  • @noobishdumbberry damn.. Of course its worth it.

  • @noobishdumbberry Whats a great ass show? Sounds sexy.

  • For everyone saying real hardcore is dead then you're the assholes that don't show up to all the gigs my band and friends throw out of our tiny ass garage. We cover this song and we have about 30 people fit into a garage the size of my shitty little room, then they jump off washing machines and destroy the place. Hell, last time we had a kid go through a wall and take it down. Real hardcore isn't dead, you just gotta follow the blaring urge to pit. It'll never die!

  • Why does everyone say that hardcore is dead? I go see shows like these several times a month.

  • @zakzero, yeah growing up in the 80's was great!

  • Minor threat also played there maybe before them? or after?

  • Perfect!

  • EPIC!!!

  • Al Barile beat the shit out of me

  • the song made me think a bit about my alcohol consume....

  • hardcore punk at its finest!

  • put down his hockey stick and picked up a guitar.

  • @getapokeon love that movie.

  • @getapokeon go team go!

  • @getapokeon american hardcore quote i beleive

  • I went to the Gallery East Reunion last night with DYS, Jerry's Kids, the F.U.'s, Gang Green, Slapshot, etc.

Refuse Resist covered this with Springa on vocals and me and my friend got a picture with him after. It was fucking amazing and he's such a nice guy.

  • Fuckjn bad ASS!!!

  • Fuck yeah! This is REAL fucking punk music! None of this Green Gay,Stink 182,and Cum 41 bullshit that you see on MTV and hear on the radio nowadays.

  • Yea i fuckin wish i lived during the era too its like all i live for today and im pretty much alone , everyone thinks punk is fuckin shit like blink182 or greeday fuckin pop shit it makes me sick

  • that kid in the orange shirt is everywhere

  • the real hardcore!!!!!!!!this time is dead!!why?

  • stop regreting the old days.

there still are concerts like this, or at least in europe there are some.

if you really want it, start a band and just make your concerts like this.

nothing will change as long as the only thing you do is posting silly comments on 80's HC youtube videos.

  • ". . . is a dead end", hilarious (and I am in total agreement).

  • i wish i grew up in this era. fuck. this generation is a dead end.

  • @zakzero123

I'm with you on this man, fuck this generation, All we got is spoilt little fucking emo/scene kids and the "hardcore scene" is full of try-hard tough guys and the popular kids, they seem to get worse every year.

  • @HCadrenaline yeah i was hoping this was just another dying trend but like you said its getting worse.

  • @zakzero123 Every pissed off kid of every generation of counterculture has thought that. Nostalgia distorts things because you only remember the things that were interesting; like the two hour punk show out of an entire month of sheer boredom. Even worse, when you watch videos like this, you're only seeing other people's nostalgia; you don't even know about the month of boredom because you weren't there. Our generation has just as much shit as the previous, and for that matter, the next .

  • @BlackAce777 i never thought of it that way.

  • @BlackAce777 wish i saw this before i posted... thumbs up

  • @zakzero123 So was ours...this was our answer!

  • Comment removed

  • @zakzero123 i love black people

  • @zakzero123 every era is a dead end. cant judge what you don't know. only way to make a differance is to start with yourself.

wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills up first.

that my sound like some dumb hippie shit but its the truth.

  • @zakzero123 HARCORE NEEDS A REVIVAL AND THIS IS THE PERFECT GENERATION TO DO IT! LETS DO IT!

  • LET'S DO ITT!!!!!!!!!!! Where do you live?!

  • @zakzero123

why. we have a great under ground scene as well. check out bands like life sentence, government warning or strung up.

  • apparently Springa smoked pot during SSD rehearsals.

  • not surprised by that, did you see American Hardcore? and the way he looked?...Straight Edge?, not likely.

  • Comment removed

  • Straight edge beer guzzlers....

  • ahahaha hes wearin a meat men shirt

  • There are just no shows like that anymore

  • I live in a working class town in NJ (RIP Eddie Shots) and I seriously have to believe that 1/2 the people that were at these shows woulda just been the tools that drive up and around my block blasting that radio junk as they do nowadays..it was just something to do

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah my generation sucks bunch of shitty music now i mean theres death metal and grindcore but its just stupid dancing

  • @mohawk1020 Just start digging, unless your in some rural hick town you can find some pretty fuckin good local shows, i live in the bay area and i find local bands every week end with fans that go as intense as this, maybe even crazier...

  • @YoungCuzzC4L I live in Detroit and it's like a fucking ghost town. Everyone is either interested in rap or scene kid shit

  • @mohawk1020 wow you havent been to a show for a while then...

  • I dig how so many people are into these older punk bands, the first to do what they did in many cases. The only thing that bothers me is the pity party that starts when people talk about how punk's dead or in a coma. Everyone bitches about how everyone is a poser or against you. We can't be born at the same time as everyone else, you've just gotta do what's to be done, DIY, take no shit from the losers who can't do anything for themselves and create your own scene. Who ever said it'd be easy?

  • Thank you for saying that! Finally somebody grew enough balls to say that.

  • thats what we are trying here its hard but fuck we need it

  • bro i'm 35 and still in the mix i'm just yet another punk bad cause this country and the world need it right now

  • your right on im 33 if punk ideas are just something you grow out of how the fuck is the change we know the world needs going to happen

  • here here bro it's cats like me and you that make sure PUNKS NOT FUCKIN' DEAD! D.I.Y. P.M.A. BRO

  • does any one know where i could hear there later stuff, im looking every were for it but i cant find it

  • Comment removed

  • Ladies and gentlemen... we are witnessing history as we speak

  • locão

  • ...ur gay

  • i like that meat men shirt.

  • punk is fucking dead, this video is proof, name one fucking band after 1984 that made an impact that had a united scene, that had intensity like ssd and bad brains and all the other greats? NONE! and dont fucking say the virus or a global threat or the causualties, they do not match was or come close to what was heard back then...thats why punk is fucking dead.

  • Small mind, small brain and no fucking heart, I wish you lived in my town, you half-cocked, spoutin' off at the mouth pussy. Save your opinions for you and the rest of your rich kid friends. We are still trying. And there's a lot of other bands from the midwest keeping shit going. Talking that shit, you're burning everything those great bands from our past worked to accomplish. Get a hobby loser.

  • nothing will match the 1980s, period! thats it, i dont give 3 fucks about punk bands of today, ssd and everyother boston band ruled the fucking day, bands now are total shit.

  • haha I totally agree mokuni.............every band Ive heard now a days sucks musically compared to SSD...................

  • yep but we need to keep trying and create something like back in those days

playing 3 chords having gigs everywhere you can all the do it yourself ideology

its a lot of work but we can make it

we may say punk is in coma and needs to be waken up

  • Problem is people are too lazy to go out and hand out flyers, post them up all over bulletin boards at stores, e.t.c.

I used to walk 2 hours to shows when I was a little younger, and if i still lived in the city i would walk to shows that happen there. But kids aren't even willing to walk to most shows if they live in the same city. Kinda weird to me.

  • @puredemocracy Times sure do change, huh :/

  • haha yes. yes they do. I'm not even that old and I've seen a lot change in the past decade within hardcore/punk rock. I started going to shows around 01..

  • What bands ? Id need more concerts lol

  • dude you should check the queefs out theyre purty good...

  • System Of A Down, they don't sound punk but they have made an impact.

  • and they come from turkey

  • No, they come from Armenia, each band member had a relative that was killed in the genocide.

  • oh.

    thanks for setting that straight

  • No problem.

  • blah blah blah. It's all a matter of opinion.

  • I believe the band Trial had some sort of impact, but you know, people will probably say I'm wrong.

  • minor threat played this show i think..

  • Yeah, that minor threat buff hull DVD is shot from the exact same angle. SSD supported them.

    Awesome DVD and amazing show

  • It's Hardcore punk.

  • This video was taken at Buff Hall in Camden NJ.You cannot imagine what a hellish neighborhood this was in. I dont know what its like now but in 1981 or 1982(i dont remember the exact date) it was a mess. All of our cars got broken into. The motorcycle gang that ran the hall basically had to be "protection" from the neighborhood. Before the show Ian Mackaye and the SSD tour van were struck by a hit and run driver. Its a miracle Ian wasnt killed. What a nite of mayhem!

  • Just amazing. I didn't think I'd find this anywhere.

  • I've kept it bottled up for years

Instead of fighting or shedding tears

Now it's time to let go

My boiling point's about to show

    I don't know if I'll lose control

Of my mind, my body, or soul

    Boiling Point

    Boiling Over

    Boiling Point

    Now it's over

  • fuck yea

hardcore keeping it real keeping it positive!!

  • This is hardcore.

  • This clip is in the documentary "American Hardcore". You should check it out if you havn't yet. It's really well done.

  • I was watching that shit last night. Best documentary ever. I just don't like how they all said punks dead at the end though.

  • who cares its all washed up old men who have nothing to do with the scene anymore

  • That's cool bro, you should probably get back to watching your pussy-ass Casualties videos, that display the finer points of "Fashion Punk."

  • your british shut up

  • haha what does me watching casualties videos have to do with anything?.. oh shit I forgot I get points for pretending to hate on them

  • haha im with you man

  • Punk's not dead, people just need to stop identifying that MTV bullshit as punk is all.

Green Day's not punk! SSD is!

  • Punk isn't dead.

Check out your local music scene.

It's just not as big as it use to be.

  • haha everyone in this page of comments is a tool.

  • (\__/)

    (='.'=)

    (")_(")

  • FUCK YEAH SSD

  • PUNKS NOT DEAD AS LONG AS I AM FUCKING ALIVE!, went to a show the other day, fuckin DIY all the way, fuck people who currenlty have nonthing todo with the scene say that we don't exist, Forming a band in como MO atm, This place is a shit hole, but we're growing,

Shit like Blink 182, My Pussy ass Romace, shit like that, fuckin has no say, the mass media's voice of social control doesn't fly with us, ya know? Punks still alive, just not so popular, THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!

  • Hell yeah mate.

  • in mexico we organized a massive beat down to all emo douche bags

just check the video in youtube

  • @Kaaotikock punks awesome but the spirit is totally different now. most of those kids went into that shit blind and built it from the bottom up. now we have a tried and true set of "punk rules" to live by. its not about worrying about whether punks dead or not but more about hving as much fucking fun as you can while making a tight community of FRIENDS tht actually look out for eachother. glad shits working out for yall up there have fun.

  • @Kaaotikock

Get back to me, I'd love to hear your band's stuff. I'm considering forming a hardcore band, too.

  • boston hardcore! fuck yeah

  • And yeah, Bad Brains OWN SSD.

    Nice vid. :)

  • Ok pricks.

    PUNK IS DEAD.

Leave it to rest in peace, and don't come up with this new Blink 182-My Chemical Romance-43+-Panic! At The Disco crap.

It's SHIT. It's lost it's MEANING. They do it for MONEY.

Come to my country and play, and try to live off it...now THAT would be hardcore ;)

  • Best Song Ever

  • good hardcore bands of today...

    fucked up

    converge (yes uh huh)

    f-minus

    bane

that's all i can name right now. i just think they are better than most.

  • Cloak/Dagger? End Of A Year?

  • +Sick Of It All

  • THIS is the one for me. Having listened to thousands of punk/hardcore tracks over the last 30 years I have concluded that this track is the ultimate.

A high intensity blast of absolute naked rage. Brilliant lyrics and a sonic tsunami that destroys all in its path.

It's truly painful to think how this band ended up - but this track and the record it was released on, for me, is the most precious piece of music I own. I will still play this when I'm old, shrivelled, fucked up and photocopied !!

  • Im 25 been listening to hardcore and punk since I was 13 and have listened to many newer bands and many bands from the 90's.....................and nothing comes close to the sheer non-contrived naked rage of the early crop of hardcore and punk bands to me those are the only bands that matter and are worth collecting.......................those are classics..............

  • yeah 7k i know them they live rite up the street..lol and they do have this cover!!!

but yeah i know them joel alan mark yeah

  • hahaha this song is badass...you should go on myspace and check out my freinds band '700 Klub' they have a badass cover of this song

  • good song!

  • nevermind

  • if anyone has any husker du vids please post them

  • settle down just because you dissagree with something or don't understand does not mean you search for videos about it just to rip on it. Your probobly a prick in real life, I bet your gonna come back to this same video to see what people said about you.

  • Boiling point!!!

    Boiling over!!!!

  • crust punk?? even the name sounds dirty god dispicable

  • fucking sick thats all i got to say

  • ss decontrol fucking rocks love the vid

  • Youtube need more SSD videos!

  • well david8883 your in the minority of what kids your age consider "hardcore" give yourself a pat on the back, and then go and kick the shit out of your peers.

  • The almighty Al Barile needs to make a comeback!!!! The almighty SSD needs to make a comeback!!!!!

  • Listning to SSD makes me wanna punch one of those 15 yr olds that listen to that metal stuff and consider it hardcore! FAGGOTS!

  • haha same here!

  • i'm fifteen and i don't listen to that bullshit

    i listen to this

  • lol! i didnt mean all 15 year olds literally, just most of the kids that think that hardcore sprung up in 2004 or the ones that think earth crisis is "old skool"

  • Crybaby. i listen to both.

  • earth crisis is only straightedge because you can't suck dick and do coke at the same time

  • what metal stuff do you are you refering to? the "nü-hardcore"/metalcore shit...or crust punk? cuz crust punk kicks major ass

  • I was reffering to the shit considered today as hardcore. Its gay, all bands sound the same, and its metal. Last time i checked hardcore came from punk, you know? I wasnt talkin bout the crusty stuff, its alright im just not down with all that peace, P.C. bullshit. I might have a different defintion to crust so i guess it depends...

  • i listen to both those genres

  • This song makes me wanna pull my hair out and punch stuff, but in a good way!

  • SSD IS the best hardcore band ever

  • I second that!!

  • Further proof that American Hardcore was more real than any of the Punk that came out of England. I admired many of the British bands back then, but you could usually feel that they were putting on an act. American Hardcore bands, even average ones, were loud, fast, and for real....period!

  • well put

  • a lot of the american bands broke up after 2 or 3 years, "grew up", and got jobs

  • A lot of them are doing reunions now : Crumbsuckers, 7 seconds for example. Hardcore is in your heart! I "grew" up, have a job but still enjoying hardcore music. I'm glad it is a way of my life! And I will never get tired of it. We made a point as youngsters and still do I hope!

  • I'm in the same boat. Well said!

  • oi oi bro!!!!

  • yeah.. cause the pistols stayed together for a long time.. oh yeah.. billy idol didn't "grow up" either when he left x to do his solo mtv career...

  • i don't even like '77 punk anymore.....my youtube name is a few years outdated....but i'm more into crust punk now....but of course i get shit for that too

  • dude crust punk is fucking awesome, why would anyone give you shit about that?

  • cuz crusties are seen as the "hippies of punk". and thanks to the casualties's songs "kill the hippes" and "politicians", these guys basically wanna beat me up at every show.

  • yeah thats a natural progession, I mean, leave one scene for another. That's the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard. I'm too good for that now..are you fucking 14...ebay all your bondage pants since you're a fucking bum crust punk. You'll save money on water since crusty's don't take a bath You kids and your labels. Fuck the punk scene

  • I've never owned a pair of bondage pants. And I'm 20 actually, not 14. I never said I was "too good" for '77 punk, I just don't like it all that much anymore. And just because I listen to crust doesn't mean I'm a crusty. Sure, I wear the band shirts, but don't you wear shirts of bands you like?

  • Bravo!!!!

  • Dude I listen to The Casualties even though I'm pretty sure you hate them BUT I also love 77 and crust/d beat/grind etc etc. I don't even wanna categorize music anymore cuz I am not even sure where nausea caustic christ and others fall in but whatever, fuck the "punks" who give you shit for liking crust! You rock!

  • shut up.

  • Maybe if you READ what i wrote you'd find that what I said was categorizing music is for little fashion scenester fags who are the reason us older guys get fed up with the "scene". I agree with what you said, I listen to everything from Slapshot to the Smiths, from Cock Sparrer to Coalesce, yeah there's not much musical comparison, but I don;'t base my fucking wardrobe on it, and I don't throw up gang signs based on what I listen to.

  • wear wut you wanna wear it doesnt matter

  • oh god we have dumb faggots who listen to blackfisted who think they know about punk rock....................bahaha blackfisted is the shittiest band ever

  • haha ya, and who the fuck are you? punk rock, this is good right here but guess wut punk is dead. i dont see ANY punks around where i live, nor are there punk shows around. you call me an idiot for listenin to blacklisted? your the idiot for still thinking that punk is around
