I have loved this since I first saw it. And Charles Durning is a great American veteran, wounded 3 times in Combat in WWII and still never forgot those of us that serve. Great song and Great man.
I learned that little turn move with the cowboy hat as a kid. Then my mom asked me where I learned it and I said 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas!'. Did not end well.
I love heavy metal and all rock n roll, but someties I love to do little sidestep and come n listen to this song. I love watching him dance around in this video, he is silly. gotta love him.
This is a career-setting precursor to Charles' Durning's brief turn and dandy side-step in "O, Brother, Where Art Thou" stage scene with the equally scene-stealing Soggy Bottom Boys (aka a looney George Clooney and Co.).
Yes, politician national anthem. But when I watch this scene all I can think of is Buck Strickland from King of the Hill. I think they made him sound like Charles Durning on purpose.
@KCTKOC But it is in ENGLISH, not in some made up mumble jumble where he screws up classic folk sayings.... "Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice...."
Bad news is that alot of politicians are TWO-FACED and we need all of them to serve military time and give up their perks and live ordinary lives like our founding fathers did meaning NO PAYMENT for what they are doing
Now I have this song playing on a loop in my head - Charles Durning should've won an Oscar - after reading the Wiki on the Chicken Ranch. I love that this turned out to be essentially a true story.
He, Charles Durning, was also great in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" as another politician, better movie by far. BO could not have said it better without the dance, unless you consider that little Fag dance he did with the Lesbian Ellen DeGenerate...
@MOMforAmericaPrez Classic teabagger response. For one it's Hussein, not Hussain, and I think you mean you heard him give THAT exact speech. It's no coincidence that the large majority the brainwashed Fox News/Teabagger followers have the cognitive skills of a fifth grader. They're easily frightened, mislead and have no genuine insights of their own, just regurgitated nonsense. I bet you think socialism, communism and Marxism are one in same too?
I see you must be one of the Progressive "Free Speech if it Agrees with what I think" accept all types.
My God (dont cringe) the guy must have hit a nerve with you. By the way, you may react to this comment in anyway you please and you know what. Its all good.
God Bless you and keep you. (You might want to mention something about clinging to my weapons too if you do reply)
@bennetm And while they're arguing... tell me GWB didn't do a damned find Charles Durning impression for 8 years. Other than weight, they even looked a lot a like. :)
La Grange, Texas ha ha ha ha....my uncle used to visit the chicken ranch. A lot of the cops did back then. ZZ Top Song too. ha ha ha Thanks for posting.
Charles Durning's portrayal of the Texas governor was great. Dolph Briscoe, who just recently died, was governor during the Chicken Ranch controversy.
This made me smile. I was an usher at a movie theater when this film came out. Charles Durning is so great!
