  • marvelous

  • This is why Rachmaninov is THE greatest composer of all time! This, along with his Piano Concerto #2 are the best pieces of music ever. A truly blessed person...I can sit down and hear this everyday and anytime I hear it, I feel that I'm in heaven..so beautiful...

  • And is also amazingly awful

  • This song is amazingly awesome.

  • @5h4d0wPh03n1x why people keep saying "song"?

this is not a song it is a "melody".

    FYI songs has lyrics.

  • @harfuch1 it's all relative man, being a long time musician and composer I know that a melody is PART of a SONG. you say a song has to have lyrics and, I can say a song is a grain of sand and we would both be right. funny how reality just is..

  • @5h4d0wPh03n1x I agree with you, funny but it is true

  • After Chaikovskiy

  • Flawless.

  • IF GOD ever allows me to get married again this will be my wedding song♥

  • You mean *Rachmaninoff? lol

  • My favorite music in the whole world, ( tears rolling down as I listen ).

  • This was also used in the movie, "The Story of Three Loves." Moria Shearer, the ballerina dances to the music.

  • We were so moved by this movie that this song was played as my wife went down the aisle and our daughter was named McKenna.

  • @mqcarpenter I too walked down the aisle last September to this wonderful piece of music. Have you ever heard anything so beautiful?

  • is not credit of paganini is absolutly for the russian genius sergei rachmaninoff great master compositor and great virtuoss piano. the piano concert number 2 is esplendored possible is a best concet for piano and orquestra never writter. sorry for my ugly english but you understand me right.

  • Shouldn't we give credit to Paganini? This music is based on his theme.

  • Awesome!!!

  • does'nt come any better than this...

  • padrisimo...

  • look for AERACURA by Bruce Mitchel - New Earth Goddess and let your spririt go...flow with it. its pure LOVE. Creation wich we are meant to keep and share our living planet with, in loving harmony ENJOY...

  • Omg!,,this brought shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes listening to it...i don't think i've ever heard anything more beautiful in my life!

  • this was composed for all of us that have found the perfect love, and when you do find it you'll find out that the every song , poem, painting, or any form related to love, is made for you two, cause your love was created by the same spirit that inspired the songs, poems or whatever form that makes your heart pound.

  • @PirataFlojo very well said. Are you an artist? Because you understand exactly what is behind works of art .

  • @blessOTMA yes I am and also deeply in love with the woman that was created to share life with me by the greates energy of all, the eternal energy that created all of us , LOVE. some say love is a decision, others that it is an attraction, but I know its energy and when the one comes to you, just a look in the eyes and youll know it and youll know that you have been toghether for eternity, I tell you its powerful and real. as real as our 3 months old baby girl, a dreamed, thought and loved gift

  • @PirataFlojo I know exactly what your saying. And indeed, it is very real...., nothing is realer! Congratulations!

  • @blessOTMA thank you, and thanks for your response. it hasnt been easy for me to share thoughts thru life...you are strange, phony, too much of a dreamer, etc. etc...if you talk about the beauty of life, you are strange, if you watch flowers or working ants, etc. you are strange... but i rather be strange and living a life full of the joys that GOD, THE GREAT SPIRIT, THE UNIVERSE, MOTHER EARTH...have given each one of us to enjoy with that special person...

  • I love this music so much, from the Rhapsody. As Chris said in the movie this was one of Rachmaninov's most cimplicated pieces of work. And this movie is one of my faovorite love stories of all time, next to the recent Lake House. With Keanu Reeves. Notice they are both about traveling through time.

  • My favorite piece of all time.

  • Lovely performance of the rhapsody. Thanks.

  • LOVE THIS SONG AND THE MOVIE!!! i could watch it over and over again!! :) RIP Chris Reeve <3

  • i agree. this movie & soundtrack are wonderful

  • Nothing to do with God, human talent. Amazing composition.

  • Surely, God touched him (Rachmaninoff)

when he penned this Rhapsody. . .

    Just beautifull . . .

  • @littledanna1 Amen! I couldn't agree more. He was blessed to write it & we are blessed to hear it. God Bless & Peace be with you.

  • This "song " is the Variation XVIII Andante cantabile from The Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini for piano and orchestra composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The Rhapsody consists of a theme and 24 variations.

  • sunanafan is right. but it's okay now you know. :)

  • this song is not called somewhere in time.

it's called "theme of paganini". "Somewhere in Time' is another song.

  • Somewhere in Time is also the name of a film, which I assume this piece was used in? I haven't seen the movie though so I'm not sure.

    :)

  • Yes, a very young Christopher Reid (Superman) was in it alongside Jayne Seymour. Beautiful haunting film.

  • Sorry, Christopher Reeve.

  • Somewhere in Time is the name of the film based on the book Bid Time Return. Yeah this music was used in that film. Also John Barry wrote some beautiful original music for the film. Check it.

  • this is one of my favorite piano songs in the world

  • what is this piece called and who wrote it, absolutely lovely.

  • Love this song too. First heard it when I was a kid in the move "Somewhere in Time." A great album I have it on is The Most Relaxing Classical Album Ever. Lots of great stuff on it. Called Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.

  • Great song and great movie. my mom mad me watch it then i fell in love with it. the end mad me cry. sooo romantic!!!

  • "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Rachmaninov). The title is wrong on this video. Somewhere in time is a different song, which I personally like more than this one even though this is still an amazing song. :)

  • This piece of music is Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody On A Theme of Paganini" 18th Variation.

  • Hermosa pieza musical.. lo mejor de Sergei Rachmaninoff "Rapsodia de un Tema de Paganini"... gracias x subirla !

  • This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. It stirs your heart and soul when you listen.
