I think that used to lead to an inner plant track for the now demolished Vulcan Mold, a steelworks that poured ingots. It was probably operated by CN or Conrail.
I know this area very well. My cousin doesn't live far from this crossing. We went down this road to get to woodhaven to her parents house. Did they put new Lighting on the crossings? It has been a few years since i been that way.
NOT.

Farther down there is an abandoned crossing at 0:07, what line did that used to be?

Yep, correct. CN operated over it. They have since removed the lights on the mast, and bells. The cantilever lights are all that are left here.

That spur was used to bring hot metal in from McLouth Steel to Vulcan, and also served Sibley Quarry.

I might have seen that unit before because that horn sounds awfully familiar. That's a nice one too! Do you know the engine number?
TommyBNSF 4 years ago
When I get home, I can check the number on the engine and let you know. I have the better quality video there.

Nope it isn't the same unit I was thinking of.
