The mom explains to her that being a woman is to be mysterious and keep people guessing; to set the table for everyone to taste, and then light it on fire and let it burn. Its not in how you look or your hair, but making connections in life just to cut them.

@XxImpressingxX This song makes a comparsion with the meaning of 'feminina' (feminine) and 'menina' (that is girl in portuguese) So the song is 'Oh Mom, explain me, how to be 'feminine' ? and the mother answer ' Its not on your dress, on time or in your sight, is to be a girl (menina) in all place'. So mom give some clues that can help the daughter how to turn a truly woman, using antithesis - some times she has to be menina(girl), anothers she has to behavior like a woman.;

@reggaerox08 woman, for example.AndIt would be disrespecful say: " Oi garotas, como vocês estão? (''Hi girls, how are you?") with same old ladies, or married ladies. In Portuguese we use the expression 'menina-mulher' (girl-woman) to designate a woman that in spite of her experience, she has a soul and some feelings of a girl.

@reggaerox08 Menina and garota mean girl, young woman. There's not difference, although 'menina' is used as a meaning of affection. I can for instance use the phrase : "Oi meninas como vocês estão? ("Hi girls, how are you?') when I meet familiar old ladies, respectully.

Besides, 'girl' is used too- 'Do you remember 'Girl of Ipanema" - 'Garota de Ipanema?' - frequently to report 'a sensual, nice young woman besides of its original meaning.Thus, is disrespectful to say 'garota' to a married
