So what exactly made Ines consider doing an escape when pretty her entire repertoire consist of close-up magic? This seems REALLY out of left field, and I for one would welcome she did more escapes on a whim!
Has anybody here seen the one where this guy escapes from a straight jacket hanging upside down by his feet 800 feet over a dam on a trapeze with no safety suspenders? It's not on youtube, but I swear I remember seeing it.
Okay, this person is follwoing in Harry Houdini has he performeed several tricks from in to the air or in a ordinary police cell with no 'so-called' magic or illusion. A magician needs discipline to perform both slieght of hand, illusion, or this.
Not magic is close-up or illusions. SOme time is the ability to perform the impossible and unbelieveable. Which is why several magicians have these straitjacketed escapes included into their acts, look at Copperfield, Morgan the Escapechic, and others.
Magic involves some element of deception. Some escapology is illusion (Houdini's "Water Torture Cell" -- Morgan's "44gallon drum escape". Some isn't magic at all; this isn't. It involves athletic skill, flexibility and strength and the ability to keep calm when suspended upside down from a 20m hight crane. Now that IS impressive!

Dean Gunnarson, Hoover Dam, "World's Most Dangerous Magic" - why do I remember this stuff? btw it's only 726 feet, so not that impressive :)

OK, it stays!
I've read all the comments; don't say I don't give in gracefully!
I still think her close-up stuff is even more impressive, though; watch it.

I agree. I wasn't belittling this performance - it's impressive; it's just that I've only ever seen Ines as an excellent close-up magician.
