MrCropper, there is alot to be said for a man of the world who is ready to take up questions about the value of history and the nobility of Man. You need not enter battles you can nt win, where you simply lack the knowledge even to fight to hav intellectual values to offer. Taking on people who are getting an education in things like hermeneutics was a mistake, its good your moving back to where you excel.
"Taking on people who are getting an education in things like hermeneutics was a mistake, its good your moving back to where you excel."
I stand by my interpretation of modern hermeunetics as corrupt. I am not "moving back" to anything; I am disengaging from the group of irrational frivolous linguistic analysts who have been vexing me lately.
I would posit that if you disagree with my views on hermeneutics, you probably know a lot less about it than even me.
While I would prefer to refrain from psychologizing, I can't help but conclude that the subjectivist academic archetype adopts his positions and views out of a deep fear of being judged and having to judge--and most especially, a fear of having to judge himself objectively. He is terrified of reality and of his own perceived shortcomings. So, as a kind of rationalization, he tells himself that there are no real objective standards, moral or otherwise.
There was a response to this post which read something like, "While I would prefer to refrain from psychologizing . . . obviously not." Did you remove it?

I got tired of the hermeneutics discussions, so this is a welcome reversion. My reading on hermeneutics/postmodernism is lacking... and thus watching the videos doesn't take me very far.
"Dagny's shock of emotion, incredulous, warm and painful, was the wordless equivalent of the sentence: What a distance to travel in less than a year...!"
I agree that engaging the Zorios and Helzermans of the world is of limited value, so I am glad to hear that you are progressing to more important matters.
Personally, as an educational demonstration, I sometimes like to poke them experimentally to demonstration their stimulus-response proclivities, but they have no real value beyond that; further, they quickly bore me in their rehashing of old false arguments.

I´m sorry that you are too afraid to debate us any more. It was fun while it lasted, but since you don´t have the bloodpressure (or the guts) to continue, we´ll have to accept just listening to you make a mockering of intellectual thinking:) Love - SD
SD exhibits the dark side of the mutual consent vs. force choice in human relations.
MrC, finding SD and his ilk unworthy of interaction, chooses to disengage and find someone valuable with whom to deal, thus selecting the no-deal option of mutual consent.
In reaction, SD attempts to force MrC to engage by insulting him. I have seen this behavior repeatedly on YT. Does this pathology have a name? Is there a cure?
I agree that your channel was a lot more fun before you did videos directly answering the people who "troll" you. "g0at" only did one critical video, so I don't put him in this troll category.
A "troll" is somebody who latches on to a single "enemy" channel and is so offended by almost every video of his "enemy" that he finds it necessary to do repeated response videos to "correct" (translation: hector) the "enemy" for his thoughtcrimes.
You'd think that if a guy truly believed his own words about everything being subjective, he would come to grips that both he and you are committed to your differences in perspective, leave it at that, and refrain from heckling every single video you do on Kant.
Reactive videos that are in response to critics aren't as fun. I prefer your fantastic videos that are entrepreneurial in the sense that they initiate great new discussions, like your videos on the Industrial Revolution and child labor. I'm happy to see Mr. Cropper returning to his roots. :-)
All along you have confused post-modernism,Kant,and relativism with solipsism.

I can think of several youtubers who would seem to fit that pattern.

Well, like Basil Liddell Hart said, the best approach is the indirect approach.
