What Man/Husband./Father, wouldn't want his wife to have a safe tire??? I don't know for sure what they meant. They definitely did have a lot of jokes about female drivers back then. Also consider that they would have used any means they had to sell tires, much like they do today. They may be more subtle today, but the goal is the same.
